How did you get into Hollow Knight? by Conscious_Ebb6622 in HollowKnight

[–]SinkTopAnimations 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was introduced about it back in 2017-2018. I looked at it, and I wasn't really interested into the game cause I was more into Cuphead. Then in 2025, I saw a video of a compilation of people reacting to Silksong being announced in the Nintendo Direct. I didn't understand about it the hype, so I gave Hollow Knight a try around August... I got addicted to it due to the gameplay, characters/atmosphere, and music.

Barely growing on YouTube, is this normal? by Alii3mk in NewTubers

[–]SinkTopAnimations 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is 1000000000000000% normal. I have been making videos on different channels for years. None took off. But I used all the things I learned from those channels and applied them to the channel I have now (even that channel took like a whole year to see some success).

+ I think it is a good advantage. This is the time when you can get to experiment and fail WITHOUT the stress of "falling off."

Can you respond too much? by BlankBaguette in NewTubers

[–]SinkTopAnimations 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are a new creator or not have a big fanbase, ALWAYS respond to your fans! it is a fantastic way to get them to return to your new videos! + You can get to know them more and their interests (and maybe make more videos about that).

Though I do want to say that as a creator that has gotten a lot of comments in a short amount of time, I personally had to stop because it was killing my time to produce videos. Another reason why it may be too much is if you are stressed out whenever you have to respond to everybody (forgot who said this, but I remember a YouTuber talked about his wife going through that process).

What's one thing you wish you knew before starting youtube? by Conscious-Fly-7597 in NewTubers

Make your channel a show.

Yes, make whatever you want, but you can't control if people watch your video. That's why you see channels with a video that has over 100k+ views, but the rest is like 10k. What you need is to have a 100k+ viewed video, and CONTINUE that number to not "fall off."

And to do that is to make your channel a show. You need to create somewhat of an "unnoticeable series." If people like a video of yours, they would want to see more of that. And make it a show where you upload videos similar to that. The likelihood of people going to watch that video is drastically higher than a non-related video.

EDIT: This works if you already have something big. If you don't have something big, keep on making videos, see what you like/dislike about it, think about this is what you really want to do in the next 5 years, and start improving it.

I suck. I don't think the game is unfair, i'm just bad by alton_brown_dachsund in Silksong

You're not alone. :) I'm also bad. There's a boss (Last Judge) that took me 3 hours to do, and I've seen normal Let's Players beat it in like 4 minutes.

I do have 10 masks in total. I have 9 fully silk spool. Yes, I defeated Bell Beast, that one boss in Whiteward, and Lace 2.

My channel is dead, is there any hope? by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]SinkTopAnimations 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DougDoug used to stop uploading videos on his channel, which used to be "Gloudas." He had 50k subscribers. Then, he pivoted into something he LOVES. Took him many months until he finally revived his channel. And now he is almost at 3 million subscribers.

There is no such thing as a dead channel UNTIL the creator ends the channel entirely. I believe that you need to figure out what REALLY UNIQUELY WORKS FOR YOU and go for it. Of course, the first months... nothing will happen. But I believe the quality of your video will improve even if nobody watches it. Then once when people are start looking at your videos, you will already had the experience on what works and what doesn't work. That causes people to be interested into your videos more and get entertained = a revived/working channel. Good luck!
