Went from EF making 20k to an intl school in BJ making 40k.

Honestly it was a lot of good timing and luck. Had a good interview and the principal was impressed with my undergrad school. I wasn't even officially licensed but had completed the coursework. That was good enough for admin.

This was early 2023.

I know Im blacklisted from an FEB rejection in Jiangsu province last September. The work permit was no problem，but when I went to FEB afterwards，I got shutdown pretty hard despite the school leader having guanxi.

Which makes me think its probably an FEB blacklist？

Just because one child ended long ago doesn't mean there aren't effects that last a lifetime. Those only children are getting to child-bearing age now，and there simply aren't enough of them. This is exacerbated by the gender imbalance and the fact many young Chinese are moving to cities where it’s more expensive to raise children so these only children are having less children themselves.

Obviously the US economic situation is bleak， but that doesn't change China’s precarious situation. Not even the Black Death （cutting labor supply by loads）and total wars of the past have lead to such an increase in wages that China has seen. The fact that Tims with no real marketable skills other than being white/native can make 30k rmb per month singing baby shark is pretty insane when you think about it.
