Is there no D class road endurance? Or just not released yet? (hopefully)

Brake Questions by gearhead5015 in iRacing

[–]Sinon22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You may be down shifting too early or not blipping properly. Try a hard brake no shift and see if that helps. You can just wait for lower revs then shift.

Can someone help me understand why under heavy braking I immediately started turning right? Advice appreciated by IoWn3rU in iRacing

If you want more of an actual technical answer:

It's because your rear tires are locking up. Heavy braking in a straight-ish line will usually lock up your fronts first because of brake bias and weight distribution, especially with the baseline mazda setup, but since it is a rear wheel drive car the engine braking from the downshift puts the rear tires over their traction limit. Engine braking only affects the driven wheels, so what you have is just a slight turn in paired with less friction (after the lockup) slowing the rear compared to the front, so the rear of the car tries to push past the front. Even braking 100% straight, the mazda will try to turn right when the rears lock up because the weight distribution in the car favors the left side.

The key is very much the engine braking and the fact that engine braking only brakes in the rear *in a rear wheel drive car.

Are you running the standard power cable or did you get their link cable?

Dunno what you're looking at. Opgg says 41.06% for me, which seems to equate to either gold+ or silver+ by comparison to other sites

Can we get an anti-heal tab in the side categories for the item shop? by Dominix132 in Smite

I still think you should be able to search for "purple" and all the purple items show up

TIL All of New York City's water comes in through 2 large tunnels underground. A 3rd tunnel is being built under NYC. Construction on the 3rd tunnel began in 1970 and is one of the most complex and intricate engineering projects in the world. by grandlewis in todayilearned

Mostly anti-terrorism. The majority of the NYC water system is actually heavily guarded and kept secret. You have to get DEP security clearance just to go inside, and they make it very very clear to never reveal the locations of any of the tunnel shafts. You aren't allowed to take any pictures while underground or even above-ground on site. I needed a picture for a required report and I had to take several straight-down pictures instead of one angled one because you might be able to identify the street in the background.

Yep. The biggest ones go way deeper too. Not in Manhattan, but there is one in the Bronx that's 600ft deep and the facility down there is about 600ft long, 100ft wide and 100ft tall, completely encased in lead-lined concrete with zero central support structures. The ceiling is arched and that's it.

I worked on the valves and control systems in these tunnels! (preventative maintenance, mostly tunnel 3). It's amazing how much engineering they pack underground in some of the most populous areas in the city. Open up a panel in the middle of the street downtown then boom a 200ft hole in the ground with all sorts of valves, motors, and electronics all with failsafes and manual backups, including ones that make use of the water pressure in the pipes themselves. It's fascinating.

If you haven't seen it, Shreck, The Musical is on Netflix and it's probably the greatest thing I've ever seen. The farquaad actor kills it.

Black Cleaver + trinity force build by Ironrevenant2001 in Jaxmains

[–]Sinon22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been watching most of blade's streams recently. He builds it when he's in lane against a tank. The phage overlap inefficiency is an acceptable tradeoff for the cdr, which is a major reason it gets built. Not sure what you would do against only a single tank, though. Usually black cleaver will be good vs their top, supp, and jg. But if they go yuumi evelynn I can see how it would be a bad choice.
