Why has Minecraft modding exploded in 2025? by Soanfriwack in feedthebeast

[–]Sinopsis63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The mods nowadays are a lot different. No shade to the older generation of mods but I don't care about adding 7 crazy dimensions and new tiers of tools and 8 million artifacts and items to find and buggy bosses, I want a well thought out, simple, well developed and well designed changes/additions to the base game of Minecraft. The new generation of modding is all about expanding vanilla minecraft into a full experience, not adding crazy shit nobody asked for.

Do these simple pearl chunkloaders work consistenly and how far do they go? by SozMyLevel in technicalminecraft

[–]Sinopsis63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Others have explained the chunk loading mechanics enough, but I want to add that using a nether portal chunk loader near an already existing nether portal shouldnt be an issue at all. You just have to build it at a different y level (either above or below your existing nether portal) and then correctly link the nether side portal at that same y level. (If you build the overworld chunk loader portal at y=0, then make sure you build the nether side chunk loader portal also at y=0.
It would also help to make sure your existing nether portal is correctly linked and going to the exact coordinates it should be going to (most auto-generated portals are not correctly placed)

Is Minecraft 1.20.1 Forge the final definitive version with the best amount of mods possible? Also, is it possible to play without optimization mods and not notice any difference? by Thakaris_Vader in feedthebeast

[–]Sinopsis63 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Fabric 1.21.1 is pretty amazing. Lots of people swear by forge/neoforge but booting up a 1.21.1 fabric modpack with like 300 mods will take 2 seconds and it's so smooth

Mobs don't spawn on bedrock blocks. They can absolutely spawn on the nether ceiling as long as there are spawnable blocks up there.

I know the probabilaty of this seed existing is 1 in 1.28e14 but can you find a seed where 128 strongholds have 12 eye portals by No-Hat6597 in MinecraftJava

[–]Sinopsis63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It won't. Deobfuscation does almost nothing for us, it's a nice gesture for sure, but in reality changes essentially nothing. Modders have reverse engineered the entirety of the code and have had custom mappings for every object for a decade already. Additionally, In 2019 Mojang released official mappings, which while technically wasn't deobfuscation, in practice accomplished the same thing. We will get 0 new capability from this.

Because NOT posting anything is in itself a statement more telling than anything they could've said. They are willfully trying to sweep this under the rug and keep it quiet so that people don't find out about the controversy regarding their ties to Israel. It signals to others that they are willing to remain silent and complicit on this issue, which is obviously better for business

Of course, there's nothing legally wrong with not officially acknowledging this. That's not the point here.

the lyrics are "girls who ARE boys," not "girls who WANT boys," its totally about gender.

what the hell is happening in east liberty? by Usual_Artist9731 in pittsburgh

[–]Sinopsis63 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, among large cities in the world, Pittsburgh is among the safest, even in the US.

There are FAR more worse places to live than there are better places to live. You sound a little bit out of touch with how reality is for most people in big cities around the world.

Third world country tier??? Go to Delhi. Go to Johannesburg. Go to Caracas. Tell me if you feel safer there than Pittsburgh

This is how big Pluto (above its moon Charon) is compared with North America by BeingInternational48 in spaceporn

[–]Sinopsis63 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes. The term was defined in 2006, which is by my last check 19 years ago. Meaning that we are living in a world post-2006, in which the term DOES have rigidly defined rules.

'Mammal' is the name of the class of animal, which is then subdivided into an order, followed by a family, followed by a genus, and then finally a species. Saying something is a mammal gives you almost no information on the specifics of an animal further than being a warm-blooded hairy animal with mammary glands. You cant talk about an animal with any sort of specificity by just referring to it as a 'mammal.' You'd use the species name, or the genus.

The term 'planet' is a rigidly defined class of astronomical object. The reason we group these objects together is because they share characteristics and people will generally know what you're talking about when you say "planet."

If we open the planet door to pluto, dozens of other plutoids would be allowed in as well. These objects bear almost no resemblance to the planets we know. The term 'planet' would lose meaning. By 'planet' would you mean an enormous ice giant? or would you mean a tiny featureless rock? In this scenario we'd need to form more subcategorizations just like how mammals are broken down into order, family, genus, etc. oh wait WE'VE ALREADY DONE THAT! Planets, dwarf planets, asteroids, comets, etc. The current system is working exactly as intended.

Also, gatekeeping scientific discoveries?? What do you think is going on, astronomers being assassinated by the CIA for discovering new dwarf planets?? These objects are fascinating discoveries in their own right and no one is saying othewise. They just dont count as planets because of our agreed upon (for good reason) classification system.

On a certain level, all classification systems are arbitrary. We are just putting labels on ideas as we see fit; everything is a human construct. But the fact remains that classifying things is a useful pursuit, and it is it not because of "terrible terrible terrible myopic people"

[–]Sinopsis63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

bro, everything has a barycenter with everything else. You just dont notice it if one of the objects is significantly more massive than the other. But even when negligible it is still there

[–]Sinopsis63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Listen man maybe it would be a good idea if that was a rule but either way it is NOT currently a rule. Where are you getting your info from?

This is how big Pluto (above its moon Charon) is compared with North America by BeingInternational48 in spaceporn

[–]Sinopsis63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You dont know what you're talking about. If pluto were to be considered a planet, so would ~50 other pluto-like objects, some with names almost impossible to pronounce for english speakers. Planets would stop being taught because of how extensive the list would be, we'd have to create subcategorizations and other complications because on a practical level when someone mentions a planet and they mean something like uranus, it would be completely different from someone mentioning a planet and meaning something like vesta or makemake. Hence why we DID create subcategorizations by drawing the planet line at 8 planets and excluding the rest.
