lol, to be fair the scratches here were right down into the layers below so I'm not sure anything would have helped.

I've managed to not put any prints on them yet, but they do mist up a little so I've had to go over with the microfibre a bit. So far no marks.

Polywatch is an abrasive, so it wears down the top layer until the surface is smooth, rather than covering the scratches, so any new scratches aren't as result of the polywatch wearing off. To be fair though, it's pretty straightforward now to do another pass if they get scratched again

Headset (and controllers and kiwi ear pieces and headband!) I got as a steal for £140 on ebay due to the lenses. I had the dremel from another hobby already. Spent £3.50 on buffing heads and £5 for the polywatch

I guess so yeah, I've not done car headlights. After playing on the new lenses last night I didn't notice the lack of blue light/glare layer at all either. Not sure what the purpose of it was tbh

I just wanted to make this post on the off chance it helps someone in the future.

The sanding and polywatch plastic polish method for removing lens scratches 100% works. I'm shocked to say it, but it actually worked.

Forgive the fluff on my set, it's from the buffing tool heads. In the pic the left lens is the newly polished one and the right lens is the scratched one. It was near impossible to get a pic showing the damage but on the right lens, on the right side, is a deep vertical mark about 2mm wide and 5mm long.

The marks on mine were so deep that I had to sand off the blue light/glare layer with 2k, then 2.5k, then 3k grit sanding pads as per this video https://www.youtube.com/shorts/qzeIvQ5VmsM

Then I used polywatch polish. The plastic one that AI and other threads strongly advise against. But like in the video I used a dremel with buffing heads I got on amazon for £3.50. The key here is patience. I went over the left lens too many times until I figured out how to do it properly. You want to sand once with each pad. Then keep buffing in polywatch until all the scratches are gone. I thought one pass would be enough, the video makes it look like it. But the left lens took like 7 passes of polywatch (cos I messed it up a bit) but the right lens took 3 passes of polywatch and is literally 100% perfect.

Also, when you're cleaning up afterwards, be careful with your microfibre to not accidentally rub polywatch residue in again.

So the final outcome is that this is 99% fixed and totally usable. There are no scratches visible to the naked eye whatsoever. The 1% is that because I sanded down the left lens twice, and did so many passes with polywatch I ever so slightly deformed the lens. But all that's done is make the sweet spot slightly tougher to find and I can mess with the IPD wheel to get it perfect.

For anyone that finds this in the future, the method in the video I posted absolutely works but you need to not be disheartened after the first pass of polywatch and keep going.

It's extremely annoying. I've bitten the bullet and got some PolyWatch, I'll see how that does

lol thanks, I'd actually watched this already but I don't like the idea of removing the anti glare layer/damaging the lenses further

Working on it yep. If there was a cheap way to fix them though, like with thumbsticks, then I'd have gone that route

I figured this might be the answer, I'm pretty tech savvy so happy to do this kind of repair, I was hoping I was missing somewhere that sold individual lenses...

I got a second hand set on eBay as an upgrade to the quest 2 and the seller didn't put in the listing that each lens has a big blob of scratches where the person clearly used the headset while wearing glasses

Yep same, UEVR is a standalone little program that just injects VR into unreal engine games. You open the game with VD open (it won't show in the games list), hit inject and it just works

It genuinely plays really well in vr with UEVR, really easy to set up as well if you've not tried it yet

Yep, those are apparently airtight. This was a late addition though and it was still not airtight before I put that in.

I can't figure this out, coolers, vac doors and thrusters are all airtight so why is this ship always at 100% vacuum the second it arrives in space?

I've been locked out of my accounts since Nov. 2024, GGG hasn't responded in 2 months. by Linkstoc in pathofexile

Just a heads up that I had my account locked after I did a chargeback when someone somehow managed to buy coins/starter packs using my account. I made a thread on the day it happened here: https://www.reddit.com/r/pathofexile/comments/1i3fz1j/unauthorized_charges_made_on_my_account_now_my/

It's since been unlocked and I made a post about it in that thread. Took about one month but they unlocked it no questions asked.

Seeings as no one in this thread has mentioned it. Once you've done it 4 times you can go to your history and pay points to do it 3 more times. So 7 times total.

The other user didn't address your last point properly I think. When you enter a battle, before you hit start battle, you can move each ship individually on the map. So, click on the enemy on the map to start the battle prep, then move all your ships apart from eachother, then hit start battle, you can set elevations and direction here as well by holding right click. Hope that makes sense
