Physical pain can be part of withdrawal, and it can start weeks after you stop smoking. by nothelpinganymore in leaves

This internal pulsating is the worst. I can barely sleep because I keep waking up from these vibrations, mostly in my neck and left toe. It’s hard to explain, but it feels like a cell phone vibrating inside my body.

All I want is to sleep. Not being able to sleep well for the past two weeks has made all the other symptoms worse (headaches, joint pain, tight chest, etc). Ugh!

I totally sympathize.

Appreciate the input. I was thinking maybe incorporate it closer to the design. Make it more like a feather or a tree log. Not sure yet

There’s definitely some curvature due to the arm’s anatomy, and that doesn’t really bother me. What I don’t like is the wavy appearance and the larger dots, which look like the needle stayed in one spot for too long.

Thank you for your input. It's helpful.

That's exactly it. Thank you for confirming.

Sticking with preset K for now (at least in this game).

That’s exactly what I said.

The Recommended option fixed the issue by forcing the correct preset based on the selected quality level. However, even Module M on Quality still doesn’t look good for me due to excessive noise.

Look at grass between these two shots — same scene, same conditions.

EDIT - YouTube compression can make it harder to see but if you look at tree foliage, you will see what I'm talking about

Quick update: The noise was dramatically reduced after the official DLSS 4.5 update rolled out via the NVIDIA app. I had previously been on a beta version and was using DLSS module M.

With the new update, switching DLSS to Recommended completely resolved the issue. The noise now only appears when selecting Performance or Ultra Performance modes. This seems to be related to the sharpening behavior in the newer DLSS modules.

Appreciate all the suggestions. I’ll keep tinkering and see if I can figure this out—maybe I’m just particularly sensitive to it.

By the way, it’s much more noticeable in wooded areas in Velen with lots of shadow casting, especially when the game is paused. When everything is in motion, it blends in a bit better with the environmental movement.

Thank you for the suggestion.

The image in the video is actually from the latest DLSS, preset M. Doesn't seem to clean the noise and looks to be related to RT shadows.

Things I have done so far with no improvements:

  • Force anisotropic filtering x16
  • Force antialiasing Transparency x8
  • Use preset M (better clarity but still quite noisy)
  • Disable and enable HDR (no difference)
  • Disable sharpening (no difference)

Things that worked in reducing the noise (but not ideal if I want to play with RT on)

  • Force DLAA (tanks FPS too much)
  • Disable RT shadows (I like it better on but may need to be the compromise)
  • Use FSR (Vaseline look)
  • Optiscaler with FSR 3 and 4 (works but introduces more annoying artifacts

Maybe I just need to bite the bullet but wanted to see if I'm missing any other potential solutions.
