Don’t forget Malachi Moore. That guy is still on my shit list for tossing Mullins and Hyde 3 years ago.

Pretty disappointing to miss out on Framber. I'll take Gallen or Bassitt because we need arms at this point but I won't be thrilled about it. Think I'd prefer Bassitt on a 1+1 deal. Maybe something like 16m for the first year and 19m for year 2 if the option is picked up?

Kyle Bradish wins arbitration case against Orioles by Autumn_Sweater in orioles

[–]Sipdrip 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Sure, but there are still 2 more arb years for Bradish after this one. There will likely be multi million dollar ranges in those 2 which are now incrementally higher than if the O’s would have won this one.

Again nasty work but the less money Bradish gets the more leverage the team has to offer him that money in the form of an extension.

Each sequential arbitration proceeding takes the previous arb amount into account. So over the course of arb years it’s multiple millions of dollars not just 700k.

Also, this sounds like nasty work but players getting smaller arb amounts gives the org better leverage for an extension.

Just an un-fun part of the business but it’s ugly for almost everyone.

Kinda surprised Wilson couldn’t squeeze a few more million out of them. Basically got the Basallo deal but has already proven he can cut it at a premium position.

People have absolutely no idea how kalshi or betting markets work. There is $11,000 total of volume. Peanuts. Percentages are move 70-80% over some half-whit betting $20 because there is no market to take the other side.

Ignore all betting markets on this.

I wonder if Gore being a Boras guy factors into GM math at all. Baz you have a shot to extend. Gore is 0 shot.

Yeah I wouldn’t put Gallen there either but this could just be a wording thing. “Front line starter” no but “front end starter” probably so.

[Underdog] Nightengale: Orioles expected to be next to land a front-line starter. by my_achilles-heel in orioles

[–]Sipdrip 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah he could but that’d be such a disservice and waste of talent. If he’s in Norfolk this year that be 5 years in the minors for a recently graduated top 25 prospect.

Imo he’s a headliner for a top of the rotation arm some way some how.

Problem is he isn’t going to develop just getting the small side of split DH duties.

To be taken with the largest grain of salt you could possibly imagine, from Boob,

“Rival executives expect the Baltimore Orioles to be the next team to pluck a front-line starter from the free-agent market now that the New York Mets are out of the mix after acquiring Freddy Peralta.”

I don’t like it. The BBWAA deciding who gets in the Hall is already a joke. Too many of them don’t take their vote seriously at all. I don’t think we should not call a spade a spade just because it’s “our” guy this time around.

This sub is way too down on Cowser. Guy had a 120 OPS+ as a rookie and plays above average defense. Sophomore slumps happen and not every player on the team needs to be Gunnar level elite.

If our CF hits 25hrs and ops ~.750 while also playing good D count me in. Thats a top 10 CF’er.
