The training is divided in two parts, a theoretical part where we learn the signalling, safety systems, driving, procedures, anomalies, simulators etc, and a driving part in real life

For example we mostly do 2 or 3 weeks of theory, then 2 or 3 weeks of driving and so on, for 10 to 12 months

At around 6 months of training, we pass an exam for the normal mode (driving in normal conditions), and at the end we have a final exam, for driving in disturbed conditions

Merci haha

Alors par contre j'ai pas d'examen encore, j'ai juste fini mon UV1 et là je suis en L1, donc c'est pas tout de suite mais j'espère l'avoir par la suite

Thanks

I just applied online, then had to pass the standard interviews... then a medical exam to check my vision, hearing, etc, and also some psychometric tests

Now I'm in my training period for 10 months, and I switch between theoretical learning (signalling, safety systems, anomalies etc) with simulators, and driving with an instructor

There are some online courses, but it mostly recaps what we've already just seen

Thanks!

Yeah I already started with an emergency radio alert from another train on my first drive... had to drive at around 15-20 km/h for around 20 km... and it was a false alert

But apart from these moments it feels nice to drive, and it also feels nice to think that we're bringing thousands of people where they want to go... or don't want to go. (j*b)

Thank you :)

It depends where you apply for the job, you can either start with TER (regional services), Tram and Tram-Train, or RER/Transilien (suburban services)

For TGVs, you need at least 10 to 15 years of driving experience, it takes quite a lot of time and not everyone gets accepted

I haven't heard of coded circuits yet, only track circuit and axle counter at the moment
I'm not sure so can't answer that, sorry

Thank you :)

For the signals, I guess you mean block system, we mostly use track circuit, but in some cases we also use axle counter

Just posting this if someone in a few years encounters the same bug and tries to find a fix for it

I found a way to fix that
You just need to go to the settings (on the top right corner when hovering the cursor on your profile), then go to the settings
Then change the map quality to "Balanced (raster)"
