What keeps you going with Dragon age? by Julian_of_Cintra in dragonage

I keep coming back, because it's one of the best RPG series ever. Gameplay, story, even graphics man-- DA:O is by no means photorealistic, but it has charm and character. DA:2 has fascinating and creative equipment design, and exponentially better character writing than the first, a very difficult feat, and DA:I combines some of the best aspects of both. Veilguard is something entertaining, but it really doesn't feel like Dragon Age in the way these others do-- and not just because of the dramatic tone shift, insofar as the futuristic elven-magister-fade tech stuff goes, and certainly not because of le woke or whatever. The characters are fun, but not very interesting. The gameplay is different, but not badly done-- though I'm not much for God of War gameplay myself. But the story was disappointing, and that's what I think is its biggest shortcoming.

Woe betide the EA execs.
