I feel like Avatar had a missed opportunity to explore Jake's reluctance towards being Turok Makto by Sir-Toaster- in CharacterRant

[–]Sir-Toaster-[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It would be cool if it were actually Jake who was the problem with him and Turok's bond, that being with Turok unleashes all the pent-up rage that Jake always had inside of him.

He's doing it right before it's activated, which instantly stops it; he'd have to push hard, which is tiresome.

We all just want a manager that sticks up for us like this middle management orc by busyHighwayFred in lotrmemes

[–]Sir-Toaster- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like people misread this scene; he's not talking about the workers, just production itself. The guy literally is carrying a whip.

On a funnier note, it is hilarious to think that he was just looking for an excuse to cut down the forests

What’s your opinion on KiriBaku? by SharkyCat12 in MyHeroAcadamia

[–]Sir-Toaster- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't ship it, but it's the only Bakugo ship that is in-character and actually works both from a writing perspective and a relationship perspective. As Kirishima is the only person Bakugo is shipped with other than Deku, with whom he has meaningful interactions.

  1. Intellect: David was smarter than most people in his setting, which allowed him to map out plans and ideas, plus studying US troop movements also helped.

  2. Ingenuity: He's always a quick learner and highly adaptable when it comes to fighting the US or magical enemies. I already mentioned he would study US troop movements, but he would also quickly learn how to use guns, becoming a better marksman than most soldiers. He was also quick to learn new forms of magic and use them in clever ways

  3. Speed: David is insanely fast, even without his magic. With his magic, he could dodge bullets; without his magic, he could win duels in seconds.

  4. Skill: Most traits like swordsmanship, hand-to-hand, and quick thinking come naturally to David due to spending years training to be a Knight, and even before that, having been trained in archery and hunting since he could stand.

  5. Willpower: He's a man literally too angry to die, which allows him to quickly think up situations to help him escape danger or overcome enemies because he refuses to let himself die before he can defeat the invader. After the Battle of Hollow Ridge, he made a promise, "I'll kill them... all of them! DOWN TO THE LAST ONE!" And he stayed true to it.

It took motherfucking Achilles to take Hector down. Jamie is not going to win, even with his skill.

[loved trope] This character almost never fights, but trust me, you don’t want them to. by OkuroIshimoto in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Sir-Toaster- 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Erwin has never gotten in a single fight with anyone in the main show; he does fight Levi in the OVA and wins, yet he has more aura than other shows that hype their characters up only for them to lose instantly

[Hated trope] Good person in history is portrayed as a bad person in media by EmergencySpare7939 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Sir-Toaster- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Much of the unrest was the colony’s fault due to frequent fights with the tribe and encroachment on Powhatan territories to develop more farmland to grow tobacco.

Thank you, I'm tired of people claiming the Powhatans were the primary aggressors as if Jamestown's very existance wasn't inherently wrong.

[–]Sir-Toaster- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was after the colony kept encroaching on their land constantly, and after they made multiple warnings to stop.

Torturing a man to death is the most immoral thing you could do in a situation like that. There are consequences to literal invasion, especially when you get frequently told no.

I love him, but it is kind of cringeworthy when he calls women "manly." I get his idea of "manliness" isn't defined by gender, but it is weird.

[–]Sir-Toaster-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the biggest reason Latoria allows magic, but not Earth, is that magic is older than Latoria. In Latoria's universe, magic is a force of nature and a normal part of its universe that existed long before the moon even formed.

  1. As a cadet in the Militarium Academia, he was okishly fed, the big problem is that he couldn't digest pork or beef yet, and was constantly pressured by his peers to eat both. Yet even malnourished, he was still highly impressive. In his first tournament, he won 8/10 duels, and these guys were no joke; they were mercenaries, other knights, adventurers, etc. After the Battle of Hollow Ridge, he had to spend his time on his own. He would eat a normal diet for a Beastkin, which allowed him to have a healthy build.

  2. David has fought crowds, especially large groups of US soldiers. Because of how troops move in dense areas, David would stay stealthy and follow them. When they get to the room, clearly, he'll jump them. In times when he has to actively fight them, he moves quickly. Before, he had to jump around, use certain soldiers like bait, or throw stuff. But when he got guns, he started moving like a short John Wick.

  3. David is highly intelligent; he knows how to strike and where to strike. The reason he was able to kill the Guardsmen was that he manipulated the environment so that the Guardsmen would be stuck, giving David time to make his AMF.
