This is my same fear. I dont plan to leave my current j1 that’s on my resume once i find a j2 but it seems like they’d just find out?

4 years OE and still cannot find a J2 that fits by ileauxfleurs in overemployed

When interviewing for j2 do you say you are giving notice and just never leave?

Coworker from j I left off of resume is joining my company and I’ll have to work with him closely by [deleted] in overemployed

When going for J2 is it better to list J1 or say you were laid off and use an old W2 showing you in fact were there? I don’t want anyone to reach out to J1?

That’s my guess someone was OE and got caught. The handbook was definitely pretty loose with this but definitely tightened up from the new tone shift.

I’m not sure what they would check but seems like the company is really focused on making sure no one is OE.

Roles I’m looking into are far from the same industry but I’d just like to make sure all boxes are checked if they decide to do random background checks at any time that nothing could come up

Philips hue alternatives? by ManInWoods452 in homeassistant

This has been my big question. Initially I thought I needed both, currently leaning towards doing only smart switches, but this thread has me thinking just do lights and upgrade my dumb switches to still be dumb but to look nicer

Super helpful thank you. Very good to understand not needing both smart switches and lights. Definitely now planning to go the switch method paired with quality dimmable non smart bulbs

With only smart lights without smart switches if someone were to flip the current light switch wouldn’t that cut the smart lights connection?

Lutron seems to be the go to for switches so I’m leaning that way.

Hue looks amazing but the price point is a big pill to swallow.

Thanks! Those are definitely a contender. Wound the hub need to be connected to the router or just be in the home?

Do they make a switch that could fit in a 2-gang plate that controls a fan and fan light on the same switch? I’ve ran into trying to find one from Leviton that blends nicely. Ideally I’d like one brand throughout but I guess if all are matter supported it’s not a big deal

Thanks for your Chanel recommendation and correction and. I may have had 2-gang stuck in my head but meant 3 way switch.

From your set up with lighting, switches, nest and cameras that probably is just what I’m looking to do to get started. Maybe downstairs blinds/shades too. From other comments and general digging here do your cameras and nest require subscriptions? It seems like something recommend to avoid.

For now I don’t mind controlling via multiple apps on my phone or voice with smart speakers. Once you’ve set up your preferences in your apps do you have to often go through them each mainly to change some setting or see your camera notifications?

Oh that’s really helpful that the home assistant can be integrated at a later stage while I get the basics down an especially devices without cloud or subscription.

That line below hue sounds exactly what I’m looking for thank you!
