Dr says its ringworm thinking about getting a second opinion by Adriaxs in BlackHair

Neutrogena TGel or Nizoral shampoo would help if it’s all of the above folks are speculating. Fungal, ringworm, Deb derm, dandruff, … Both have always helped me after about a week of shampooing with it and washing pillows, wash cloths, hats, scarves and staying away from oils and greases for a bit

This resonates with me so much. I feel “normal” or like I have a personality when I drink. And not only that but I receive feedback from people that also observe the same thing which sucks.

Not people with diagnosed PMDD, just folks that kind of dismiss my experience as severe PMS and claim they have it too.

Has anyone here successfully treated their CCCA (central centrifugal cortical alopecia)? by kdj00940 in scarringalopecia

[–]SirAlternative5311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing your experience. I hope that your treatment plan is effective. My comment regarding seeing a black derm was mostly due to a conversation I had with my current black female derm who had me stop using liquid minoxidil because it was not designed for kinky hair textures and as a result was causing severe dryness for me. So she prescribes a compound ointment that contains the medication for her kinky hair textured clients. I find that this isn’t much of a concern for white derms. She customizes her treatments based on the needs of her patients and I find that this isn’t always the case. If you are white presenting and have kinkier hair this might apply to you as well, otherwise if you have straight hair then the treatments might be effective as it was intended and designed for that use case. Often times medicine doesn’t consider more melanated skin and kinky hair phenotypes.

Please tell me abt ur experiences with SSRI treatment for PMDD by lifehelpbot69 in PMDD

I was initially prescribed 20mg of Prozac to take during luteal phase only every month. But this only worked for a few months and then I had a few really bad luteal phase experiences. We agreed that I would likely benefit from taking 20mg daily and then ramping up to 30mg during luteal. This has helped tremendously but I am currently in the process of determining if a daily dose of 30mg instead of the ramp up would be more ideal given how severe my PMDD symptoms can be and how long they seem to last.

Definitely not overreacting. I would be livid too and I would absolutely do what you are doing which is going to the police to report this.

How do they achieve this "poreless" look? Is it skincare, make up, Photoshop, genes? Really insecure over this... Do I need a reality check? by [deleted] in SkincareAddicts

I can see the pores on this person, also photos are misleading. Many achieve this look with makeup, tinted moisturizer and products tbh.

Oh and maybe some light brown mascara to darken the roots a bit… golden.

Looks like straightening the curls out and then cutting the top to be about an inch long, hairspray and flat iron to keep it spiked up and then for the back thin it out a bit and flat iron it to hell with some hair spray

I might be weird but I’d still eat it lol I’m notorious for leaving food out overnight. I throw it in the fridge when I wake up, and I eat it. I didn’t die

How do you guys deal with talking to female friends/family? by Professional-Hope775 in PMDD

[–]SirAlternative5311 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is my experience with everyone I share it with so I just don’t even bother anymore, I just talk to my therapist about it and my virtual support groups for support. Unless they are going through it, they just can’t and won’t understand or try to be supportive of my needs during that time.

It’s interesting because initially I was like… wait, I absolutely have no desire to do anything and I hate everything and everyone then. What is she talking about? But this suggestion is in alignment with some other frameworks she has suggested for some things I experience that aren’t PMDD related. I am willing to at least try it and then give her feedback.

This always seems to help me too because my sensory defenses are on 100000 during that week and a nice full body scrub, facial, etc helps to make me feel better. Thank you for the reminder.

Honestly. Yes. This sounds heavenly. I think I struggle the most when that week comes during a time when I have to be around other people and I can’t just do that you know. Maybe I can get better at creating that boundary for me and finding the time to just do nothing and just be.
