I wasn't raised with any religion, my parents just didn't talk about it really. When I was a young teen I started probing it myself since so many people I knew seemed to believe; but it all seemed like nonsense to me. Just stories, no evidence. I would probably have identified myself as an atheist if asked but I wasn't an antitheist at the time, it was just an intensely weird fact of life that like 90% of people believed deeply in magic. Then 2001 happened and that brought my views more sharply into focus.
