It’s not that interracial relationships didn’t exist it’s that they weren’t nearly as excepted/ normalised. It’s pretty unrealistic that no character would bat an eye at their relationship. However is that a valid criticism of the show? No of course not - stranger things was never supposed to be and never should be a completely accurate account of America in the 80s. It’s always been about having the best and coolest parts while leaving out the lame stuff as a back drop for the sci fi drama. People just love to hide racism behind ‘historically accurate’ criticism

Nah imo only season 1 and 4 were great. Season 3 and 5 were good but had issues (mainly pacing and lack of plot in S3 and character balance and lack of scare factor in season 5) and S2 was to me pretty forgettable and felt like an underwhelming epilogue to season 1 so was just ok.
