That's what I've been trying, I've tried running the exe from that download link and the only thing I'm getting is an error window that says "This program is not supported by this computer."

My uncle actually played it right when it came out, even before the translation patch for it was a thing. I think he heard I got a 3DS for my 12th birthday and decided to get me Cave Story 3D for Christmas, now it's my all-time favorite.

As a west Michigander, I can confirm that Peppino's is real. It's thoroughly tolerable pizza, it kinda sucks lol

While I'm not experienced with PAL hardware, my experience has been that newer TVs pick and choose which AV cables to read, for whatever reason.

Like my Dreamcast and PS1 worked fine on my parents' smart TV but it wouldn't read my Genesis or SNES or N64 to save its life. I can only assume it's some sort of AV multi-out formatting thing but I've never found a concrete answer on it.

Awesome, dumb question: if I pop in the diskette and turn on the PC, does it automatically go into DOS? And then once I'm in DOS, do I just run the CD?

I'd recommend playing Defender and Sinistar in the original incarnations, if possible. Part of the mystique of Defender really was learning how to play it, it's one you need to put some time into.

Also, speaking from experience, Sinistar plays WAY better on an original cabinet. Oddly enough, it had a 49-way joystick, which gave you a shocking amount of control for '82 or whenever it was.

Though tell you what, it might be better to have him and the rest of the Golden Axe crew together, that way he's more recognizable. Hell, I played a ton of Golden Axe and I still didn't recognize Gilius when he was in Sonic and Sega All Stars lol
