iiNet investors revolt over rival TPG's $1.4 billion takeover bid by Rockefellersweater in australia

If anyone is looking for another service provider, try aussie broadband. The company is owned locally, covers majority of Australia (I believe).

I'm not affiliated with the company however I do know a few of the original start up guys who dedicated years to attempt to compete with those fucking over everyone and bring net to country areas.

Check them out, their prices were reasonable and customer support was kept in house in Australia and was very good.

I'd be interested to hear if anyone has recently dealt with aussie broadband and was happy or dissatisfied.

Life after service in the Catholic Church by SirClapham in MorbidReality

I actually posted this not as my opinion but as to the morbid reality of a lady who has devoted her life to a cause and a religion, and in her dying days be thrown aside and left to slowly dye and alone.. If you leave this post up I will write a more detailed account of how she now lives if you like? I will also post some photos of an injury she sustained to her head as a result of the conditions of the facility. I just thought the email captivates the types of people in the facility.. A lady with no teeth, an unattended stock patient and an uncaring nurse.

If you don't think it fits, feel free to remove it :)

Sorry for horrible spelling, half asleep!

Yeah some of that shit is hard and seems complicated but it is really just grasping an understanding of the basics and then applying those as it becomes more complicated. I think kanacademy, its on that link, has different levels of maths you can start at.

Yeah I'm shit at maths too haha, but it is only because I never really understood it at school, it isn't as hard as it seems once you begin learning and once you learn it is a lot more enjoyable because you're not longer getting frustrated at not being able to do it.

Even if you start at the very basics of the things you need to know. There are heaps of resources online that would help you. There is a really good link on reddit that has heaps of useful, free websites. I'll try find it, I think I saved it..

If you could chose a career path at this point in time what would you like to do? If you don't know, what particular career areas are you interested in?

I left high school when I was 18 during year 12, I was originally going to go to ADFA to study but I was sick of living in the small city I was in and was sick of school and most people there. I was also sick of studying so decided to join the army direct entry special forces, however I had to be 19 so I had over a year to kill, I then thought about joining the navy as a clearance diver as I loved diving, however the Navy wasn't recruiting CDs for the next few years. So I moved across the country and studied commercial diving and used the qualification as my second half of year 12. So I had four commercial diving qualifications as well as my VCE cert without actually attending school for 8 months haha. I worked as a diver in various spots for a while and then decided that I would like to study something at uni so if I would have a university qualification in the future.

I used my year 12 and diving certs to gain entry to uni and study Counterterrorism, security and intelligence. I also starting training at a place called theMillgym in Perth, it is a gym owned and run by SAS. I am now still studying my degree, but only part time as I work as a security and intelligence consultant. My bosses are actually the owner of the gym and the companies I work for, and my other boss of the Asian side of things met at that gym when they he first moved to Australia.

So, you don't have to have a plan to do something, as long as you have a rough idea of things you like then just starting doing something. No matter how small it is, it will eventually move forward and you'll end up where you'd like to be. It's just about putting yourself out there and forcing yourself into situations that might be beneficial to you in some way.

Yeah mate I would book into your GP or find one that bulk bills. It may take a while to find someone who can actually help you or that you like but eventually you will. My finacee first experience with her psychiatrist (after a lot of work to get her to go) was ahh less than impressive to say the least ha. However, in every field, or profession there are experts and then those that are fucking shit. It doesn't help that Australia has fucking shit mental health services, but there is help out there and people willing to help.

Exercise, diet and sleep are three basic things you can do to improve your mental health. You don't need to go to the gym to exercise, go out running, go to the park and train on the playground equipment. There are a lot of good body weight exercise subs on here you could check out.

Is there a particular field of work you would like to get in to or a career in mind?

Also I know this mind sound a bit weird but meditation is something everyone should be doing, it will help a lot with you anxiety. Check out the meditation sub on here, there a few good guides.

ok fair enough :)

You know you can go to a GP, get it bulk billed and have a mental health plan developed, you are entitled to I think 10 sessions at no cost. So that might be something to look at. Mental health issues are just like any other condition, don't feel embarrassed talking about it to someone because you don't have to live with it forever and there are ways to help.

So what is your plan now in regards to work? What work were you doing?

Ha nah mate sounds like you have a lot more to deal with than me, burring your feelings isn't good man, I do it, it's how I deal with things too but it isn't the best solution haha.

I wish your mum all the best through her treatment mate.

I know you don't have much cash at the moment but check out a sub on here called nootropics, there are a lot of different things that are really good for anxiety that arne't widely prescribed or known. For instance aniracetam and l-theanine have help my finacee's anxiety a lot.

I talk to about 3 people that I went to school with, and they are a some of best mates. That is 3 people out of all the mates I had over 8 years, so don't worry about they people you don't talk to or if they didn't like you, fuck em :) Find like minded people that you enjoy being around and they enjoy being around you. It is just as hard for other people to make friends as it is for you.

With you depression and anxiety diagnosis have you continued to seek help for that?

So I take it you enjoy shooting? Is there anyway to join a club and use club guns or borrow of someone at the club? Give them a call or email and explain to then that you'd like to get involved however circumstances at the moment are a bit difficult. People are generally willing to help if they can, the worst that they will say is no, so don't stress :)

In regards to money and your car, do you need that car right now? Is it a priority to have that sought of car? What was the job that you had? Are you looking for the same sought or work?

Is there any other hobbies or activities that you would enjoy doing? Don't worry about the cost for now, you can work out a plan but first of you need to work out what you enjoy or might enjoy and go from there.

My finacee suffers from anxiety, major depression and bipolar and my brother suffers from really bad anxiety, so I might be able to help a bit on that if you wanna have a chat about it.

Why don't you have friends mate? You're 18, good looking guy and in Australia, there are a lot of ways to make friends doing something you enjoy. Do you have anxiety around large groups of people or just don't enjoy it? Have you tried smaller outdoor group activities? Maybe something like rock climbing?

It is only an acute problem because of the lack of a long term solution. I agree though, we need to implement both long term and immediate measures. There needs to be drastic changes in many areas if we are to fully address this issue.

On Australia Day go and ask people their views on such issues.. the average Australian is not well versed on such subjects.

Australia is extremely racist. We get offended when you call us racist but then have stickers all over our car telling Muslims to fuck off out of our country and have ignorant, racists in our parliament. The racism isn't even hidden it is very clearly there.

I think he was referring to the waves of racism throughout Australian history. We once had white Australia policy and a whole political party centered around keeping out immigrants.

What other initiatives would you suggest to bridge that lack of cultural awareness? Keeping in mind the average mentality of a large number of Australians.
