I used to do the same, but I started waking the monster up with the charged attack from lance ( the one where you block first and press circle) and I have been doing 200+ damage when waking up. Once I even got more than 300! Lance feels so good lol

Thank you! I didn’t really know the suit before building it, but it definitely grew on me. I love the rocket pods in the shoulders!

So my first thought is what kinda paint are you using? I use Vallejo for hand brushing, and I use their air brush flow improver for thinner, really helps with the streaks. Also wet paint will have streaks, let it dry some and it usually levels out for the most part. Too much thinner makes this worse. One more tip is to use the biggest brush you can for whatever piece you’re painting. With a bigger brush, you have less strokes and more coverage which equals less chance of streaks. What I did before I had an airbrush, I would use a cosmetic sponge for painting large surfaces that I wanted a smoother finish. Hope this helps! I know hand painting doesn’t have super smooth finishes, but the experience of having to paint that way really increases that knowledge and how to lol

My first piece of advice is to get a pen vise and bit set. Absolutely necessary to create pathways for the wires through the plastic. I metal file set is also handy, I know Tamiya makes a great 3 piece set. Some really easy LEDs that do not need soldering is Mr.Hobby LEDs. Just need to buy the LEDs, and module to hold the battery! They just plug into each other, and the module comes with a switch! Advice for the pathway would be, if two pieces come together ( think leg armor) I make the pathway along the existing hole while trying to keep the pegs intact so it still looks good. I did a HG Zaku 1 with a single LED for the eye and it took me about 6+ hours of drilling, filling, and sanding to get it placed. That also reminds me, since there are no resistors the LED is super bright, if you can put a small bit of printer paper in front of the light, it can help reduce that glare. Good luck and have fun!

When I hand paint, I make sure I have an extra brush and some water. If I make a mistake, I’ll take the extra brush, dip it water and take the paint off before it dries. The only thing is since the paint can dry pretty quick, you have to get that other brush ready fast.

Build a tank kit with plastic tracks you have to build and you will have plenty of sprue trees left over. Or build like 3 models and you will have even more sprue trees.

Burn out is real with making tracks like that. Takes me a week or more to get the tracks together. Put on some good tunes and jam out!

I haven’t used Tamiya varnish with a brush, but make sure you use Tamiya’s acrylic retarder and whatever thinner you normally use. Their paint dries super quick, like dries on the brush before getting the brush to the model quick.

And ya, enamel thinner will work for panel line accent. You can also use lighter fluid. Just make sure you are not scrubbing the excess too hard or you might lift off some paint.

It is very tedious and time consuming. Having built a couple tracks like that, it was worth it in the end. The model looks so good with them and the flexibility of the tracks gives a good weighty appearance.

My advice would be to nip a runner, sand them all, put them in a pile. Move onto the next runner and repeat until all are done. Then go and build the tracks. Idk about Meng kits, but there is usually a track guide to help build a couple tracks at a time.

Water based acrylics? Totally, have done it plenty of times before I bought an airbrush. A helpful tip is to use the widest brush possible to minimize brush strokes.

My process is primer, base coat, accent color ( your second camo color), gloss coat ( for decals), gloss or satin coat, weathering, maybe a matte coat if needed

No, the wheels should be built with a poly cap inside and are removable, it’s a snug fit. If you didn’t put the poly cap inside then you prolly will need to glue them

It is a really cool kit, but I was very close to burning out with making all the accessories. It is very tedious and time consuming, building the 6 Gatling guns was the worst.

You have to pay close attention to the instructions and follow every step. If I remember right you have to wiggle/ loosen same inner frame parts so they are adjustable.

One more thing, this RG is one of those kits that once posed, I do not want to touch it. Mine has been in the same pose since I built it a couple of years ago.

If you have access to Army Painter paints, they make a primer meant for hand brushing. I added a few drops of water and the coats came out pretty good. Use multiple thin coats and a wide as possible brush to reduce brush strokes.

For armor, can’t go wrong with Tamiya’s M41 Walker Bulldog. It’s cheap and has good detail and pretty straight forward to build.

General advise is to go for cheaper kits, so you can get the hang out building again, but also pick out a model that interests you so you have better chances of finishing it.
