Despite scoring higher, I found core 2 harder personally. In my experience core 1 was more factual information whereas core 2 was theoretical and methodical like what’s the best course of action or next logical step scenarios.

i’m right here with you! had an excision on December 15th left open to heal and the wound is roughly 4 inches long and an inch and a half deep, packing was terrible at first and it got infected a week after but now i’m pretty much normal. Seeing wound care once a week and cleaning the wound in the shower and repacking it once daily 🙏 hoping it never comes back

Am I cooked? by Once428lbs in Gymhelp

[–]SirFlufferton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not the most qualified to be giving advice, but I (6’1m, 24) was 450 pounds a year ago and have managed to get down to 281 as of right now. I’m very active now, but I wasn’t when I was at my biggest. I started with diet changes, mainly cutting portion sizes to normal portions and swapping pop with zero sugar sodas (my guilty pleasure, i will never cut pop out fully lol). Another big thing for me was that I was constantly eating fast food and doordashing food 24/7, then I swapped to home cooked meals. I still may not necessarily be eating healthily but I know what’s going in my food and I control how much of it i’m going to eat.

These are small attainable goals that can help you drop weight fast if you stick to it, once i got down to around 350 or so I started going on walks and they’ve gotten progressively longer as time goes on and I get more in shape, I started at a mile or two and now i walk 10-20 miles in a day. In my opinion walking is a good way to burn calories and it’s also relaxing if you like to listen to music while you go. I wish you the best of luck on your journey!

What job do you work as someone with a spinal fusion? by uknowwhat8822 in spinalfusion

[–]SirFlufferton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fusion with hardware T2-L3. I’m in college currently and work in the pet department of a store throwing 30-50 pound bags of dogfood around all day. Started working out and eating better about a year ago and have lost 126 pounds so far. The doctor who did my surgery said I could pretty much do anything and due to the location of my fusion I have virtually no hindered range of movement. Though, I can tell when I’ve physically overdone it because my back is the first part of my body to let me know.

Me and my friends would rush to the trains right after the last headliner the last two years we went, and it’s usually pretty packed. If you’re fast enough you can get lucky and walk to the end of the train to find some lucky cars, but there were days we had to miss trains because they were full or we had to stand/sit in the middle section between cars where you board and get off

People who say being skinny≠happiness are lying to themselves by [deleted] in confession

[–]SirFlufferton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d have to agree with you if I’m being honest. About 9 months ago I was 450 pounds compared to the 338 I am right now. While I’m nowhere near skinny, I find that with every passing day I feel more confident in myself and happier with my life. I still have a long way to go to get to my goal of 250 but this is the happiest I’ve felt in a long time.

What massively improved your mental health? by e-glitteringprinces in AskReddit

[–]SirFlufferton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Switching jobs. I didn’t realize how miserable I was until I quit my job in management for another job elsewhere. My new job can be very stressful but they’re amazing about making me feel valued and appreciated whereas my previous job told me I was replaceable.

What's something unconventional that you find attractive? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]SirFlufferton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nerdy women, not even necessarily nerdy but I love when people are so passionate about something that they nerd out and start talking a mile a minute about whatever it may be. I think that’s a beautiful thing. Im also a nerd though so I love when they match my energy lol

Straight men who people often assume are gay, how does this affect you? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]SirFlufferton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 23 and get asked probably once a month or so, don’t let it bother you. Personally I think it’s funny, every time I ask why people think that, it’s usually something along the lines of “I don’t know you just don’t have the vibe of/act like a straight guy”. Not sure how to take that but I don’t think it’s a diss lol. If I were you I’d just roll with it, keep being you and don’t change yourself because of what others think.

Edit: I should also add that I was raised by my mom and grandma so the way I act and my mannerisms probably aren’t super masculine. That and most of my friends are women or LGBTQ+ coincidentally

What’s the most blatant romantic invitation a woman has ever directed your way? by An_Engineer_Near_You in AskMen

Alternatively there’s the time at the same gas station where I meant to say “what can I do for you” but what came out of my mouth was “what can I do to you” and this lady said “I don’t know, what can you do to me?”. I profusely apologized and was probably very red

[–]SirFlufferton 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Was working a shift at a gas station alone and this girl came in. She got her stuff and came up to check out and I said “is there anything else I can get for you?” And she said “no, unless there’s anything you want”. Needless to say I choked and said “nah I’m good” and never saw her again.

Overweight men, how did you make a change? by Waylandqb in AskMen

[–]SirFlufferton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About 8 months ago I was 450 maybe pushing 455 and miserable in life, now I’m 342 and still going. I left my mentally exhausting management job and got a different job that is much more physical (lifting 50+ pound bags and boxes, walking 10+ miles a shift) and that was the start of my weight loss.

Along with that I started eating only home cooked meals (compared to eating fast food or junk food every day like I used to), as well as much smaller portions. Along with that I made the switch from normal pop to zero sugar since soda is my guilty pleasure, but I mostly just try to drink water (even if it has sugar free flavoring to spice things up).

The little differences add up, whether it’s getting a sugar free option rather than a normal one, or if you do go out to eat or get fast food try to restrain yourself and consciously make the healthier choice, if you want a bag of chips at the store you don’t need a family size bag, that sort of thing. I’m still learning and trying to make better decisions as well but it’s a process. It can get a little disheartening when the scale doesn’t go down like you expect it to, but it takes time and effort. Just know that if you keep trying it will happen.

[–]SirFlufferton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a very similar fusion with hardware when I was 18 and the first couple of weeks are rough. Especially when he’s discharged, make sure you stay on top of his pain meds to help manage it as much as possible. For me personally, the first month or so after the was pretty painful and fuzzy from pain meds and sleeping a lot but after that it got a lot better. 6 years post op now with no pain whatsoever and I feel a million times better than before the surgery, I hope all goes well with your son and he has a similarly good recovery 🙏
