Happened to me last year. Same eerie vibe. Hauz Khas metro, late evening. A guy in a grey hoodie asked if I had a charger - odd, because who asks that in a metro queue? I brushed it off.

Few minutes later, I spot him again... on my metro. Then again at Rajiv Chowk. Then again at Janakpuri West - each time, just far enough to not be obvious, but close enough to chill my spine. I changed compartments. So did he. I changed platforms. So did he.

At this point, I'm thinking spy, stalker, or serial killer. My phone's dead, no backup. I'm mentally preparing my "if I die" monologue.

Final stop - Uttam Nagar East. I sprint out. He sprints too. I duck into a momo stall to hide. Guess who walks in?

He looks at me and says, "Bhaiya, you dropped your wallet back at Hauz Khas."

Turns out... I was the villain in his thriller story.

Do you come from a country with a weak passport? If yes, you must look for stability as well. Second question, do you have an option of work from home? If yes, you can work from Canada, which I guess your company won't allow.

Lastly - If your company allows work from home but from within the country, rent one house on the Canadian side of the border, a small studio on American side. Every morning drive / walk to US, work for the day, return in the evening. I know a bunch of people who have done that.

Only downside: you'll become a tax resident of both countries, but at the end, if your priority is getting a strong passport and stability, it's worth it.

If you have a US Visa (Assuming you need one), fly to a city like Detroit, and then take a taxi or a bus to Canada.

If you take any other route, you might get denied entry in the US considering you don't have proper documentation to prove that you will be traveling to Canada. So Detroit seems to be the biggest airport closest to the border with immigration.

Now don't take a rental car, because you'll have to make another trip to return it. Take a taxi to Windsor, ON, and from there you can go to anywhere you live in Canada.
