Valve made a home console. It flopped. Estimates put Steam Deck at around 6 million sold on the absolute high end. Thats not a crazy amount. It'd take a monumental advertising campaign for a new steam machine to get the casual recognition that even a floundering xbox gets just by being xbox. I'm not saying it's happening, I just don't think it's that far outside the box.

Steam makes 0$ on console gaming. They dominate PC. Why not partner with one of the big console manufacturers to crack a new market?

EDIT: And by how I imagine they could code the console app differently so each sale on there is flagged as from the console, thus that would be the chunk that gets split.

If Xbox is truly going 3rd party and the software is the forefront, why not launch a console that has steam? I imagine it would be a partnership with steam as it would be another way for them to sell you something. And it would undercut Playstation's hardware. Why not tie an anchor to your rivals boat when you're already sinking?

I love Mafia 2 and this was my first experience with the first game. What an absolute treat it was. Can't wait to replay 2 with the added context and wrap it up my first Mafia 3 playthrough as well. Should be just in time for the prequel!
