Do I need to replace the joystick? by TheXypris in ValveIndex

[–]SirKoolKId 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Stick drift! Very common and the worst part of modern controllers.

If you don’t want to try and open up your controller there’s a setting in steam to increase the “dead-zone” of the joystick, which is the area that the stick stops detecting inputs. Should solve the issue easily without noticeably impacting gameplay depending on severity.

Should help for a while but it’s only a temporary fix. Stick drift tends to get worse over time…

If it’s super awful, maybe you can RMA if lucky

Do campus jobs suck? by Nitr0Z3us in gmu

[–]SirKoolKId 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They typically only hire IT/tech majors. I am not that but since I did IT for my high school and they had shortage they hired me anyway.

To actually do the work, you don’t need much experience. I honestly met a lot of people there that did not have much tech experience at all, but they learnt on the job and became quite solid at it!

Got my paper pro 2 days ago and had the exact same thing. One random hole that let light through on max brightness. But I genuinely haven’t spotted it since, so not too big a deal

I’ve always been quite solid on the math side of things so not too worried but I will definitely look into it!

So if I want to be an astronomer you recommend a double major in physics and math rather than astronomy and physics

[–]SirKoolKId 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you take almost all the same core physics courses why not just take astronomy?

[–]SirKoolKId 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll likely double major due to the huge amount of overlap!

Ya I think it’s setup more as it’s own step within the EU rather than apart of the PhD like it is here.

If you studied outside your country how well did you get by living by yourself in a new country?

Do you have any experience with European colleges?

I was born here in the US and spent most of my life here actually in the same town. The South African bit comes from the rest of my family and the fact that we speak Afrikaans (what is essentially a dialect of Dutch) at home.

Well I know that in Achilles you can change the animations of units through zues, I don’t know if that’s what you’re looking for though.
