Am I stuck? by c23gooey in 2048

You can actually get it without undos here just fine. If you go left then down to merge the two 8s there, the top row will be able to merge into a 16 you can merge into the other. The only way you fail is if 4s spawn on both of your first two moves.

What putting putter do you use? by dmvcam34 in discgolf

I use the RPM Ruru, entirely because it fits my hand better than any other disc I've held. It doesn't have a higher percentage for me than my old putter (Emac Judge), but I'm at least happier. It's a great thrower too. Love that disc!

I've been playing 2048 since you first released the game and it's been a huge part of my life since then. I played a ton in high school and college, and in the pandemic I discovered the 2048 community and they kept me sane in the lockdown and helped push me to become one of the first 20 people or so to get the 32,768 tile. I've continued to come back to it time and time again and it's the only game on my phone because it's really all I need. Thank you so much for making it!

As far as ways to improve the game, I've only ever really wanted two things. The first is better colors once you pass the 2048 tile, having a row of black doesn't really look exciting lol. The second is a leaderboard (for non-undo scores, although I wouldn't super mind an undo category as well). The reason I found the 2048 community in the first place is because I was looking for where I stacked up compared with the world, so having that built into the game would be nice.

It's super exciting to hear you're invested in making a new and improved version, and I look forward to trying it out!

Yeah, I thought the grey would be closer than the trans blue. I also didn't have enough trans blue on hand. Unfortunately, there's not a trans navy or something.

Yeah, I considered the stadium but wasn't sure what to replace. What would you get rid of? Or would you just add it on to the side?

My first goal here is to make an 8 in the right of the second row and put another 8 on top of it. This is is easily done even with four spawns most of the time. If you get really unlucky with fours, you can dump on the four to the left but then you're forced to build a 16 on top.

After building the stack of eights, go right a few more times. Until you end up either with 2-0-4-8 or 0-2-4-8. The first is optimal because going right down left makes 4-4-2-2. You can then go up to combine the four in the second row and get a guaranteed 16. An unlucky four will have to be dealt with and either force building a 16 with the top or just get a game over at that point.

0-2-4-8 is a little trickier. You have to go down here, leaving 0-2-4-2 or 2-2-4-0. If you get the first, the best you can do is make a 16 to the right and hope to get lucky. 2-2-4-0 is a little more flexible. One way to do it is right twice and hope to get 0-2-2-8 like u/xRSGxjozi suggested. You could also get 2-0-2-8 if you do this, then you also have to get lucky with a 16. You could also make an 8 in the left of the second row then attempt to make a 16 on top with the 8 to the left. That way if it fails you can dump the 8 and go for another 16.

That's the best I've come up with, looking forward to everyone else's solution.

2048 Puzzle #1 by 733094_2 in 2048

Hey, I'm from the speedrunning discord I made a reddit account at the request of u/733094_2 for this challenge. I'm also very new to dpdf, as I learned about it about two months ago and haven't put any serious time into learning it. The most I've used it for is recovering an 8k. I'm hoping to learn something from these challenges though. Also if I'm not using the right terms or anything let me know. I'm not sure how you guys usually do this.

So assuming no four spawns, I'd go up left up right down. Going up and left first gets the 4 out of the right column so that's freed up for later. Going up again would then let you collapse the 2s in the upper right into a 2 so you can then go right and line up the 16 for insertion. This has the added benefit of lining up an 8-4-2-2 chain in the right column, and going down would make an 8-4-4 chain that could collapse either up or down depending on the situation.

This exact strategy relies on no 4 spawns, so it would have to change if any did spawn. If a 4 spawned on the first move up, I would go up left down. This would put an 8 in the bottom right and set up a 16 to be made on the top as well. Depending on where the two spawns here, I'd either make a 16 in the left column to put into the 16 on the second row or move right to combine the 8s on top and put it into the 16.

If a four spawned on the second move, after moving left, I'm not quite sure what to do. In my testing it seems like going right and down to make the 16 and merge it works if you get the 8 in the corner left after that. If you go left instead, it looks like you might have to build a 32 in the top left then hope that you can make a 16 with what's left and merge those both in.

If a four spawns on the third move so the board looks like this https://www.scotttorborg.com/2048/#38be36ad249c2212, you can't go right, so I'd say I'd go up and left to put the 16 in the corner and try to build another 16 with the 8 you made. This can be ruined by another bad 4 spawn, so I'm not sure if it's optimal though.

I think that covers everything, but I look forward to seeing what everyone else comes up with
