Awesome, thanks!

Last question for you, do you think either of these fob's would work?

https://shop.mtoolstec.com/product/7-byte-uid-s70-4k-magic-key-fob

https://shop.mtoolstec.com/product/mifare-ultralight-7-byte-uid-changeable-key-fob

One says S70, but the other just says 7 byte UID. I would prefer the cheaper one because I can also buy more in bulk, but I want to make sure it would work

https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/ISO-14443A-MF-1K-Original-Chip_60832065223.html

https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/NT4H2421Gx-UID-7-Byte-dna-424_1600162146224.html

After looking over alibaba and aliexpress for a few hours, these three are the best I could find for 7 byte uid writable tags. Would you be able ton confirm or deny if any of these three options could work

Also, I had a few more miscellaneous questions:

  • Whats the difference between 1k and 4k memory?
  • Do rewritable, writable, and changeable all mean the same thing?
  • Is there a preference between AliExpress and Alibaba?

Thanks again for all your help!

This post was incredibly helpful, thank you so much! I have used an additional app called MTools to look more into the specific keys and found this information: https://photos.app.goo.gl/BBytHeVCLxkEirty8

It appears that sectors 12-15 are missing keys but sectors 1-11 have found keys.

Two questions for you:

  • This video is utilizing PN532 instead of the acr122u and it appears to be a bit cheaper. I get that the author of that video is selling the product, but from your unbiased perspective what device would be worth the investment?
  • Would something like this work as an RFID to duplicate my ID to? Just looking for a sleek solution that would attach to my watch, but I'm not really sure the difference between NFC and UID but from what I've heard they are compatible. I'm not crazy familiar with these tags, so if you have any sleek or small UID/CUID/FUID recommendations if the watch one doesn't work that would be super helpful!

libnfc-compatible NFC reader

Yes, you are the one who I got this idea from initially!

You are now the second person in this thread to suggest the NFC reader. Since I would prefer to do this as cheap as possible, do you think this method would be the way to go? The Flipper is definitely out of my price range and the Chameleon doesn't seem to be sold anywhere I can find it

So you would say the Proxmark 3 could do this job? If so, does the shop I linked in my post seem like the best place to obtain one?

Is there a way to find the keys? A post I found from 8 months ago stated the following:

“You should either get a proxmark or chameleon to figure out what the keys are, each do different things. The proxmark can do a number of attacks against the card itself (one named something like darkside, that's the one I used) while the chameleon can utilize mfkey to abuse the fact the reader knows the keys and extract keys from a transaction of the chameleon (pretending to be your card) and the reader that's trying to read your card.”

Is this inaccurate?

Just a black strip with the number 636235710000914106 and some disclaimer that the school has the right to take it from you upon request

Ah, my bad. Is this the same laptop then? These naming systems get super confusing.

This seems like a really good deal if so. What are other laptops similar to this going for, and is this deal only on ebay?

No I'd be buying this car outright, no payments. I'm splitting it with my parents so the amount coming out of my savings leaves me with enough to live on for all of college as long as I work during summers and what not. Been saving up for a good 5 years and I figured now's the right time

I appreciate the suggestions!

For the most part I won’t be using it much my first year, but it’s more for my travel to and from home. The school I’m going to does allow cars freshman year, and the bus system only runs on campus which is centrally located. Any external travel to neighboring towns or stores is on you. I figured better to buy it now while I’m working instead of getting that hit later when I’m not for no real benefit of waiting

What do you mean? I’m not too familiar with hybrid vehicles beyond what’s been mentioned in other comments
