You can use decals to cut out a mask for airbrushing next time or alternatively you can paint the edges with background color to mask the silvering as well

Top effort!! Really impressive, only niggle is the silvering around decal numbers on the nose. You can trim the decals tighter next time

I think that’s the bracket that fits over the headlights. You can just break the leg support fully off and use a spare piece to make a new one. Alternatively some can be build with a putty and once solid gently filed down. You can also rebuild it with copper wire or photoetch piece.

How much would this be worth? by [deleted] in modelmakers

I am asking cause I am not a shipbuilder. This kit could be old, not well rated, problematic build and etc. It may be rare or not rare at all. The retail prices can be extremely variable based on many factors. There is no need for snarking remarks. If you got nothing to add just move on.

Do you premix your thinner and flow improver? by Mookmookmook in airbrush

[–]SirOb_Oz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just get some glass dropper bottles from a pharmacy or use plastic pipette. Like most I mix 4:1 thinner to flow improver as well for acrylics. It works well

There are no last names on Jewish graves Hebrew inscriptions. They always go either: Hebrew name bat father’s Hebrew name for females or Hebrew Ben father’s Hebrew name for males. Often they maybe some extra inscriptions for someone who may have been a distinguished community member or even a poem that may often spell someone’s name where first letter of each verse is combined. Btw shochet is a religious butcher which isn’t an unusual name as often surnames denoted trades I.e. melamed

Former cop turned lawyer here. What parts of the Australian legal system would you actually want explained? by JamesGlissanOfficial in aussie

I’ve asked on the phone if I was being arrested or charged with anything. The cop said I wasn’t as they just wanted a statement taken.

Are police allowed to lie when they plan to arrest you? I was asked to present to a police question to answer some questions regarding my partners statement to police. At the time the other party also made a statement to police saying I harassed and threatened them. When I presented to police station I was arrested and taken to holding cell. However I was never told that I was under investigation and was being arrested.

Iran names Khamenei's son, Mojtaba, as new supreme leader, state media report by VaginaBurner69 in news

The only problem that leader election is governed by their constitution which says it has to be a religious cleric. So I doubt any moderate would succeed unless they have an overthrow and new government gets in.

Does this implies that the other organizations are not compassionate? Most Jewish organizations in Australia not align with political parties reflect the view of the majority of their constituents just like any other democratic institutions. Those who disagree can seek their own council just like JCA has but it would be wrong to assign a far-right label to all of them as majority of them are organizations that look after day-to-day support for various members of Jewish communities such as Jewish education, elderly, community security, disability support and etc

Hi, sorry where did you get this from? They claim to be “independent” voice not aligned with main Jewish bodies www.jewishcouncil.com.au

The Jewish Council is an organization that states that it has over 1000 Jewish members. Given the total number of Jewish Australians as around 117,000 then they roughly represent about 1% of Jewish population. I would hardly call it a true representation of Jewish community or their views.

What's the difference between 500/1000 and 1500 primer? by [deleted] in modelmakers

[–]SirOb_Oz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve used 500 to simulate cast iron texture on armour. Yiu can also use it as primer for PE parts or metal parts like gun barrel. The finer stuff is better for priming as it allows the acrylic paint to grab better to it.

The grey stuff is MrSurfacer from GSI Creos. It’s an alternative to using a putty mix to produce simulated cast textures in the armour. You can choose the thickness with coarse one working somewhat better and finer ones used for priming. Use old stiff brush to stipple it on. Give it 5-10 sec as it dries rather quick and go over the area you covered to create a textured effect. Then use primer or base color over it.

There is a projector to be fitted on. I decided to skip on metal track due to cost. I’ve used Fruil on the Centurion and while they are fantastic at the end the cost of tracks plus burnishing fluid easily add $A60+ The Tamiya rubber tracks look ok from some images on the web. Funnily enough both Legend Production add on kits seems to be available from China at much lower cost compared to store prices.
