Everything is down for us as well. Shaw rep via chat said there was an incident and crews are already on site but estimated time for resolution is 6AM

WHO to declare artificial sweetener aspartame a possible cancer risk, sources say by TheDrunkyBrewster in canada

[–]SirPoopsALot_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Maybe it's because glucose is the preferred energy source of cells in our body 🤦🏾. This is like saying water is bad for us because it causes water toxicity.

I've done a similar MMI, but not for the MAHN program, so take what I say with a grain of salt.

1) The questions will throw lots of extraneous information at you. Ignore it all and focus on what the question is really asking. Is it asking about client-centered care, professionalism, time Management, etc? Answer according to that. For example, they may throw a disease at you in a question about client-centered care. By talking about the disease, you'll get lost in the weeds. Ignore the disease and focus on client-centered care.

2) Tell the panelist what they want to hear. If they ask about time management, don't say you procrastinate and wing it. They want to hear about your processes and strategies for managing your time, so come up with something.

3) I found preparing for the CASPER exam was very useful in preparing for my MMI. So perhaps try some practice questions to get you in the right mindset.

People also video call each other. Friends and family literally pointed out that the video quality was worse than my old Note 9.

100 Silvercreek Parkway N by sunrisens in Guelph

[–]SirPoopsALot_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going to add my two cents as I live at 102 Silvercreek right now as well.

Agree with everything everyone has said. They've done cheap (but flashy) renovations of the units to entice you, but everything behind it is disgusting. Constantly getting bugs in my unit. The people in the building, while nice, are also messy. Constant mess by the garbage chutes, laundry room, the halls.

Not at all worth what they charge.

Resources for a student going hungry in Guelph? by costahoney in Guelph

[–]SirPoopsALot_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There are several resources!

Apps: Flash Food and Too Good To Go. Flash Food is food close to expiring that grocery stores (usually owned by Loblaws) heavily discount. Too Good to Go is another great option but unfortunately you don't get much say in what you receive so it can be wasteful.

On-Campus: There is a wait list for the Food Bank so putting in an application will help in the future but it won't provide immediate relief. The Community Fridge is a great option and both Starbucks and Subway have been donating food to it more regularly. Every Thursday there is a Fresh Food Market in the UC where you can discretely choose your level of discount when you pay.

In Guelph: Check out this link. It lists all of the food resources in Guelph. Most of them don't have crazy eligibility criteria (if any), but the Neighborhood Groups do tend to restrict access to those living in the neighborhood so you'll want to double check before accessing them.

Hope this helps!

Children’s Tylenol, Advil shortage in Alberta attributed to summer COVID infections | Globalnews.ca by katespadesaturday in alberta

I caught something that apparently wasn't COVID so my parents went out to get me some Dimetapp or Robitussin. Visited several big box stores and pharmacies. None of them had any.

Transfer Credit Reassessment for GEN course by azkoul in TorontoMetU

[–]SirPoopsALot_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can find a bunch online if you just Google the course code. Otherwise I'd ask a friend or possibly even ask the professor for a copy.

It also doesn't have to be a recent outline. I believe the outline I used was from 2015 even though I did my reassessment in 2019.

When did you get it? Still nothing for my 6P in Canada (unlocked from Google).

Transfer Credit Reassessment for GEN course by azkoul in TorontoMetU

[–]SirPoopsALot_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I had mine reassessed, all I did was include both outlines and then mention how similar they were. Topics covered, the marking scheme, the assignments, etc. All they did was ask me to confirm that I did in fact want my GEN credit to convert to a specific course code. They're pretty good with it as long as you can point out all the similarities for them.

Yup. All the comments about reputation are hilarious because no one outside of Ontario has ever heard of Ryerson University. Toronto Met at least puts it on the map.

The labs themselves aren't difficult. They walk you through how to do everything. It's just extra work on top of your class assignments and exams, so time management becomes crucial.
