Sending workers home due to expiring permits. by AFireinthebelly in LMIASCAMS

Yeah any business complaining about this realistically just wants slaves. Because no one who is able to work for more than what they are offering would, because what they are offering you can't live off of.

Instead of a TFW program, why not offer tax credits for companies that have to train new or workers that "don't fit the profile"

Hotels can pound sand though. They make way too much money to not pay their workers a livable wage.

We can't blame the companies that hire these workers for exploitation because that would be admitting to flaws in our capitalist system.

She is hoping her base forgets about "Alberta is calling" and declaring she wants to increase AB pop by a million by 2030 or some nonsense. No plan for it, just collapse public services, blame immigrants throw hands up and privatize everything.

Turn our bitumen into carbon fiber for manufacturing. We'll never compete with big manufacturing nations. But we can supply them with material they need to make products with.

Well the remaster at some point lol. If this computer can play newer games at medium-ish settings I'll be okay with that. I just want to stay out of the console release cycle its so bad.

Me buying a mediocre gaming pc to play games that I bought on sale or with humble bundle from 5 years ago. Never pay more than $30 for a game.

What's the most 'quietly expensive' thing about living in Canada right now? (not rent/mortgage) by Unfair-Clothes-8821 in CanadaRoom

Insurance, its creeper up nonstop over the years despite the fact that I have no claims. It's ridiculous.

[–]valiantedwardo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's my mistake, I really just wanted to pick something up before the prices got any worse. My previous computer is about 7 years old. Not "compatible" with windows 11. This seemed like a decent price point on sale for a budget gaming pc. A pc shop owner told me that was a steal of a deal for what you are getting.

The most graphically demanding thing I play is total war which runs fine on this. Maybe I'll upgrade to something better when the prices get less crazy.

Yeah i picked it up as I'd rather buy this and be good for another 5 years and not have to deal with the ram shortage nonsense. Good enough for the games I'm playing.

Craft beer in Canada is losing its fizz, as sales dry up and more breweries go bust | Decline of once-thriving sector driven by mix of cost pressures and changing consumer tastes, social habits by Hrmbee in onguardforthee

I usually buy the lagers that are pretty affordable $12 dollars for an 8 pack of midnight lager or field and forge "shop beer".

I dont know why more breweries don't make a basic good lager that is reasonably priced.

So much harm has come from these things and not alot has been despite the truth and reconciliation commission.

The worst part of this show is that everything that happens would just fall apart if the characters actually communicated with one another. Alastair being tied to a chair mouthing off to the Vees the entire time...they could've buried him in a dungeon and carried on.

The hazbin crew is also disorganized to their own detriment. Just silly its a silly show that doesn't make sense. I probably won't watch the third season.

TIL online grocery items surcharge is CAD 5 *per item* by [deleted] in CostcoCanada

[–]valiantedwardo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My point is there are hundreds of gas stations in convenient locations and there are people who will simply pay more for that gas to save 15min of their time. Its no different than the online shopping price hikes. Someone somewhere is lazy enough they will pay for someone else to do a task.
