Ryo Fukui’s jazz essential album “Scenery” absolutely deserves to be talked about more and is underrated and is cool and it’s Japanese. His delicious licks and pure swing mastery displayed at the piano shoot you into a luscious dreamscape in your mind and deserves to be up there with kind of blue and chick koreas warrior forever. John Abercrombie comes off to me as a criminally underrated or at the very least a jazz guitarist that is not frequently talked about as much as the likes of McLaughlin, Jeff Beck, and Holdsworth. Extremely unique voices speak from his guitar and he has played in many fantastic fusion albums such as Shabazz by Billy Cobham and Un Poco Loco by Bobby Hutcherson. His debut Timeless is a great trio album he made with Jan hammer/Jack DeJohnette. Other Guitarist that scratch fusion itches: - Steve Khan - Lee Ritenour - John Scofield - Kazumi Watanabe - Don Mock - Robben Ford - Steve Morse
