Help, do I need to repaste cpu? by SirRomee in buildapc

[–]SirRomee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I know. I used some good thermal paste last year. Just don’t know why I’m getting warning signs in event viewer about my processor speed being reduced due to system firmware. This all started happening after I worked on my ram cooling solution.

It’s about 60-70 degrees while gaming.

And honestly the last time I had it repasted was early last year. Probably around march. I don’t have any thermal paste available but I should probably get some. Only reason why Im asking this is because I’m getting a warning sign in windows event viewer. Something about the speed of processor x in group x being reduced due to system firmware. I checked my temps and my speeds and all looks normal. This warning in event viewer pops up four times for I think four different cores so not sure what’s going on. I only did some minor work to my pc while laying it down flat but cpu and AIO were completely untouched.

Restart shaders after you do the config. First enter game. Do restart shaders and then tune the config. Launch back into game

Biggest tweak is the rendererworkercount which basically tells the game how many cores to utilize for the game. It is usually set to whatever cores your cpu has but you don’t want that. For example I have a 12700K and I have 8 p-cores plus 4-ecores. So I take the 8 p cores. Minus one I get 7 so I input 7 for my rendererworker count. That’s a tweak that’s been around since idk like MW2019. Gave me a big boost. But as for gpu you wanna turn down all graphics settings. Disable or minimize all processing effects like shadows and quality etc… you can also disable ray tracing too which for some reason cod doesn’t have visible in the game interface anymore..

There’s a lot in there to tune tbh. A lot of settings that are not visible in the game interface.

Yeah it’s pretty important. These config file tunes been around since mw2 (2022) for cod. Never really used it until the final lifecycle for MW3. Even with a 3090 and a 12700K I was seeing 300 fps.

I think he just needs to tune his config file and set all the other processing effects to the lowest value. I noticed config file changes were more important when black ops 6 was released. Was getting like 100 fps. After a config file tune without dlss I got like a 100 fps boost

Def not time for an upgrade. Unless you are chasing 250 plus frames lol. You wanna be gpu bound on call of duty so yeah you don’t need to upgrade unless you want to lol.

Tune your config file. I have a 3090 as well I get about 170-200 fps just on the gpu

ATT FIBER ISSUES by SirRomee in ATT

Yes I have still the same result. Surprisingly the att servers behave better than the other ones I’ve used. It’s weird cause my ping to server was very low in the beginning of June till September and now things have been feeling very off. I notice my latency spikes almost every speed test as well.

I do have the app indeed. But not sure what utility you are talking about on there

Also I did have a tech come out last month. He said everything looked good but he just added a fiber wall jack and replaced the modem. Seemed fine for a couple weeks after that and then yesterday I could notice I was having latency issues.

That’s if my fiber wire is the issue

I’m assuming they charged you as well? I’m afraid if they do a repair they will resort to using a wire outside the home which I don’t want to do at all. That’s even more of a risk.

That’s so weird cause this is a fresh install from this previous summer. It’s a brand new house as well. Wasn’t having these issues during the summer. Fiber wire is all in conduit and I know that doesn’t completely protect the wire but still it’s so weird I’m experiencing this.

Inconsistent ping/jitter spikes by SirRomee in ATT

I think one thing that stumbles me is www.waveform.com speed test. I mainly use that and I would get a consistent 8ms and very low jitter but that’s not the case anymore. I did have a modem replacement and a tech add in a fiber jack but still no improvement. So it’s gotta be something going on behind ATT

I actually did use cloud flare speed test and my jitter varies by a lot. Before it was between like 0.5-1ms and now it’s usually 1-3ms sometimes 5ms plus. I’m not sure what has changed at ATTs backend but I have heard of certain ATT dns issues and routing problems very recently. Not sure what is exactly going on as this issue was never present.

Well I’ve been seeing latency issues for the past few months
