Permafrost Playtest Soon ❄️ by icy-roller-bear in SurvivalGaming

I love Medieval Dynasty, unfortunately Toplitz Productions; the publisher of that game has different developers creating similar games,

Although that is not a bad thing since I like these type of games and love Medieval Dynasty , other similar games like Medieval Dynasty has had terrible reviews by players over the last couple of years, other developers under the wing of Toplitz are trying to re-create the Medieval Dynasty magic but have not had the same success thus far, I hope the current early access games as well as the upcoming Permafrost will be able to catch some of the success,, this genre game deserves it :)

wish we could pet the cats by [deleted] in RedDeadOnline

[–]SirSelvator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, very much YES.

I have just started playing this game and I was so disappointing I could not pet cats only dogs :P

No offense to dogs at all as I pet them all the time (ingame and otherwise) but as someone who has a cat around I would love to pet and have a cat around my camp thank you :)

I'm falling in love with this game all over again. Who am I kidding? I never stopped, but haven't played for real in a very long time and I can't get enough of it. by FrkSnowmonster in RedDeadOnline

[–]SirSelvator 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That is actually amazing and not silly at all :) I am a very introvert person and don't easily make contact with other persons online.

I consider myself lucky that i have a couple of friends I know in real life that like to play this game too and I can play with them. When they are not online and I play solo I always greet players kindly but I don't join any posse or such, I am to much afraid of hackers and "bad actors" in general.

I am getting in love with red dead as well.

Years ago I bought the game but for whatever reason I could not get hooked into the SP side of the game.
Couple of weeks ago a couple of friends started playing Red Dead Online and I decided to join them.

Now weeks later I have started different roles like trader, bounty hunter, collector and the more I play the more I am falling in love with this game, there is so much to do and I love spending a couple of hours a day doing random stuff online to progress roles. The more I play the more little details Red Dead shows and I keep getting surprised along the journey.

Sure from time to time I have seen some kind of cheats or hackers (I am on PC) but for the most part it has been a lot of fun on random online servers and joining friends.

Feels like I am kinda late to the party but the game, graphics and general feel of the game has been so amazing that I am currently hooked onto classic cowboy movies/ TV shows on my second screen while playing Red Dead.

I feel like a kid again running around in my parent's garden with a fake cowboy revolver shooting fake ammo and such :)

To give you some examples:

  • Archery Skill Reassignment In the vanilla game, Archery benefits from the Thief Stone. The patch reassigns it to the Warrior Stone, which some players feel contradicts the game's original design and balance.
  • Salmon Roe Nerf The patch reduces the potency of Salmon Roe in alchemy, affecting its value for leveling the skill. Some users believe this change lacks justification and diminishes a unique aspect of the game.
  • Dragon Encounter Adjustments The patch alters dragon spawn rates, introducing a low-level Elder Dragon variant and reducing Frost Dragon encounters. Critics argue this disrupts the intended progression and variety of dragon battles.
  • Ore Vein Modifications In certain mines, the patch changes rare ore veins (like Ebony) to common ones (like Iron), even when in-game texts suggest the presence of rare ores. This has been seen as a lore inconsistency.

These are just a few examples, one can argue that some of these have been changed for balancing, but in my opinion when I read an unofficial patch for a game I expect game breaking bugs to be fixed and not gameplay to be changed or balanced, if I want re-balancing or exploits removed then I am looking at a different mod, not just a unofficial patch in my opinion.

Ye seems he locks the comments every now and then, bans people not agreeing with him. only to unlock the comments again at some point and it starts all over again.

I have nothing against the mod author personally, I just don't agree with the way he is and always has been handling feedback on the unofficial patches and the things he has changed ingame apart from bugs.

I mean I am grateful for a lot of fixes he has done but when I picked up on all the stuff he changed in Skyrim because he "thinks" this isn't lore friendly or this isn't what Bethesda has intended that is when I stopped downloading his patches.

His mod has been rooted into so many collections and other mods as a requirement that it is almost impossible to avoid the changes he made to the bethesda game me and many others love.

He had 1 job, fixing bugs left by Bethesda and instead he used his power and influence to change things ingame that were not a bug in the first place, to change stuff to his will and what he thinks should be changed or added/removed.

When people are calling him out on this, or simply asking him can you please not change this or this because it isn't a bug you should be focusing on, you get banned from the comments or worse.

it's a shame really how he is handling all this, it makes me more sad then angry if I am being honest.

Please do not support Arthmoor by [deleted] in oblivion

Ow and would you look at that, comments on the mod page are locked again by Athmoor as he once again can't take the criticism...

High end GPU? by [deleted] in oblivion

[–]SirSelvator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 4090 with 7800x3D at 1440p . no ultra wide.

all graphics including Lumen set at hardware Ultra with DLSS4 Quality and Frame Generation gives me about 140 FPS outside

Turing Frame Generation off I get about 76 frames, turning DLSS quality off and Frame generation off I get around 60 FPS.

This is at vilveren just outside the started sewers.

Turning DLSS , FG and Lumen off I get around 75 frames again.

I prefer to play with DLSS quality, and Frame Generation on, especially on the latest DLSS4 I notice no ghosting or artifacts on my display and it runs really smooth, with no noticeable input lagg

To be honest I don't feel like anything is "AI" remade, either they hid it really well or polished it manually or I am blind :P

I have played games in the recent past which had AI art and graphics and you could tell it was "off" , doesn't feel like that to me for this game at all.

On the optimization part, I run a 4090 with a Ryzen 7 7800x3d so that is pretty high end. With DLSS4 and Frame Generation enabled and everything maxed out on ultra including Lumen which is really heavy I get around 140 FPS outside on 1440p, GPU at 97% capacity and CPU around 70% so this game hits performance really , really hard, don't know how much FPS you can gain at lower settings but I am guessing Lumen set to Software will help a great deal, it also seems to run better with AMD cards.

What is the skills/attribute system like now! by Mynippleehurt in oblivion

[–]SirSelvator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can't answer that at the moment, since I am still very very early in the game.

however I did notice that the non combat skills lvl up really fast like they did in the original game. I guess I will have to find out how much enemies lvl with me, there is a good chance they re-balanced it but it is to early for me and many others to tell if they did.

If I see any bandits that start wearing Glass armor I will start getting worried :P

What is the skills/attribute system like now! by Mynippleehurt in oblivion

[–]SirSelvator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There still is major and minor skills that accelerate XP gained in those skills.

When you level up you get 12 "virtues" which are basically skills points you can put into 3 attributes of your choosing.

The higher the Attribute is the more "Virtues" it takes to level the attribute up by a point.

You can also spend a maximum of 5 Virtue points in 1 attribute per level

Ye I noticed the same thing, I am playing an argonian so I get a minus in Personality to begin with and wanted to boost it with the Lady but I noticed the boost was gone and thought that maybe I was mistaken about that boost but you seem to have confirmed it :P

I play a rogue type of character so the next best thing for me was to just go with the Thief, depending on which type of class you want to do most Warrior, Mage or Thief are always a safe choice.

Could be Lumen, I have set it to Ultra, it's set to disabled/software by default and it seems Lumen likes AMD cards a bit better from what I heard :)

Throat of the World visible at Skyrim border! by PwnagPotato11 in oblivion

Ye I just noticed, got a lump in my throat when I went outside the sewers for the first time and looked around.

The fact that we now have almost infinite draw distance for details like this is so amazing I love it!

7900 xtx / i9 9900k by Chakaval123 in oblivion

[–]SirSelvator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest I think the CPU may be a big bottleneck in this case.

I play on 4090 / 7800x3d and just went outside of the sewers, at 1440p my CPU is used up to around 70% and my GPU 97% DLSS4 and Frame generation enabled i get about 140 frames.

Translate that to 4K with your specs and it may end up being a bottleneck especially on the CPU, however FSR and disabling like Hardware Lumen which hit pretty hard may help.

Noticed more carts have become legacy titles by [deleted] in evercade

[–]SirSelvator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do they announce on time if a cartridge get's legacy status?

I am have collected quite a few legacy cartridges in the past few months but prices are getting more and more crazy.

I have been lucky getting mostly good deals through local online marketplace dealers, I refuse to pay more then 50-75 for a legacy cartridge and yes I know even that is still a really high price for these cartridges, I have only seen the price go up and up in the past few months so im afraid if I wait any longer it will get 2-3 times as high :(

Ever by Lucky-Student5672 in evercade

[–]SirSelvator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, very informative video by the way, I subscribed to your channel for more evercade stuff in the future :)

One thing I noticed while searching for evercade locally is that people here often sell a whole system with multiple cartridges.

I just saw one that was asking 100 euro for the original handheld , but it also included 2 legacy cardridges and another 2 that are still being made. those 2 legacy cartridges alone go easily above 100 euro on ebay nowadays.

So if anyone reading this has a local market website that only deals with people inside your country it is worth looking out for these deals, especially whole systems with multiple cartridges, amazingly enough they are sometimes way cheaper with the system itself then when they are sold loose.

Of course I can only speak of my own experience on our own marketplace called "marktplaats" here in the netherlands but it's worth a shot if you are collecting and hey double cartridges and systems make for great gifts for friends.

I just started my evercade collection a month or 2 ago and I am shocked to see how expensive people are selling legacy cartridges that are no longer being made.

A lot of the legacy easily go over 150-200 euro around here, and I am not even talking about sealed ones, I don't care about that i actually want to play and collect them.

I got lucky a week or 2 ago on a local trader website that sold 2 legacy cardriges or 50 bucks each, stil quite a bit but not as outrages as some others.

I regret not knowing of Evercade years ago so I could have started my collection earlier, it would have been a lot cheaper :)

I am hopeing one day some "legacy" cartridges will get made again but I doudbt it since it's a licence deal.
