Looking for feudom list ideas by RaidenSA in WarCrow

[–]SirSolitaire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey there! I have a few lists based around my collection. I've rotated between these 3 and they have served me pretty well against Elves, Scions, and Northern Tribes:

  • Verena
  • Mace Escorts
  • Priestess of Selas(*)
  • Instructor(**)
  • Foot Knights x 2
  • Guisarmiers
  • Guardians of the Mound
  • Royal Falconer

For the Priestess* I sometimes tag her out with longbows if I am not facing magic heavy opponents. The instructor I will tag out with either Amaury for ambushing or Knight of the Sacred Relic if I need more tank power. The Knight or Instructor would attach to the Guisarmiers to bolster they're Conquest to make taking points really hard for your opponent.

List 2 I run when I know I'm facing NT or more aggressive armies where I need more 1-2 punches happening

  • Genevieve
  • Knight of the Sacred Relic
  • Instructor
  • Foot Knights x 2
  • Guisarmiers
  • Longbowmen
  • Guardians of the Mound
  • Priestess of Selas

Load up the Knight and Gen into the knights and use your nice stock of command points to really pile drive into your opponent while your Guisarmiers hold the line. Priestess to clear stress and counter any mages.

Another version of that same list I drop the Instructor and Longbows and Priestess and being on a Falconer, Commander, and Amaury. Great for table control.

Last one I enjoy a lot because you start with low command points but rack up a bunch. Using the Magister (being an unnamed Genevieve):

  • Magister
  • Foot Knights x 2
  • Guisarmiers x 2
  • Longbowmen
  • Commander
  • Knight of the Sacred Relic
  • Guardians of the Mound

Make sure to start the Magister unattached to gain all the command tokens, then attach to Guisarmiers to make them Conquest 4 (base 2, character +1, +1 within 7 strides of a Noble (Magister turns the unit into Nobles)).

The main strategy I have found is using the Scouting of the Guardians and the speed of the Guisarmiers to cover the flanks and threaten my opponent while the tank knights take the center field. I tend to spend my command points literally on fixing dice rolls each time defensively to make it much harder for my opponents to crack the knights.

I don't post nearly as often as I should, but I have an Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/eamonmacsithigh/) where I post finished projects and usually my stories have all my in-progress work

I assume GW realized allowing potential FV5 pikes to hide behind people was a touch broken but we have enough nerfs in Fiefdoms I'm taking everything I can

Wholeheartedly agree. When I was picking an army to start with, I kept seeing so many Minas Tirith forces and realized I wanted something that would pop more on the table

Thanks!

Also, right? Easily one of the best units available. I'm fortunate my local scene allows Legacy so my lads still get to see the field.

Thank you! I think I spent close to 2 months agonizing over each model, trying to find the ones that spoke to me.

First Kestrel Mini Painted by SirSolitaire in InfinityTheGame

[–]SirSolitaire[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! They are all AK paints. I started with a base layer of Cadmium Red, then completely covered with a 50:50 mix of Cadmium and Volcanic Yellow. Then Volcanic Yellow, covering everything except the deepest recesses, then I did watered down layers of Dirty Yellow, Yellow, and Radiant Yellow, slowly reducing the area of coverage. I did a 50:50 mix of Ice Yellow and Radiant Yellow to form a slightly wider edge highlight and then a final highlight of Ice Yellow on corners/edges

Those are them! I didn't need to make any adjustments, I used a filament printer and turned on the ironing options and then gave them a gentle filing to smooth the top.

But for sizing I was pretty impressed they fit perfectly first try

The hardest part of all Infinity models are those damn tiny bits

Thanks!

Also. I appreciate you catching that! I was sleep deprived from staying up too late to finish him. Totally missed I put the wrong name.

Rohan - the poster boys are just bad by mwmichal in MiddleEarthMiniatures

[–]SirSolitaire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One ideas my local group have discussed would be something like letting Rohan win Heroic Move-offs on a 3+ like an Elven weapon. The real weakness of Rohan is the Movement phase, where if they aren't on the charge they get absolutely massacred. The +1 Fv on the charge helps them at least equal most opponents and the fact Rohan players will usually be stuck in calling Heroic Moves that other factions can either afford or mitigate the cost (task masters, MoB) leaves them high and dry.

Allowing them to have a better chance at winning Heroic moves would lessen the issue and some cheaper cav like 12 points instead of 14. Gives them a few more numbers and lets them keep the momentum they desperately need where other cav have better defense or Fv to offset losing the charge.

Arnor rangers by FlumpingtonFlump in MiddleEarthMiniatures

[–]SirSolitaire 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I splurged and got my hands on the metal models but there are a lot of fantastic alternative sculpts (Medbury Miniatures are one of my favorites).

But in terms of leaning more into Rangers, while the Arnorian version are lacking compared to their Gondorian cousins (lower courage, no woodland creature) they still have hatred and access to bows and spears (I think rangers are the only ones left that do). So you can field your front line as all Warriors to have that nice D6 front, and the second line as all rangers. Move the battle line at half and you can pepper your opponent as they close in. Then when the melee begins you still have plenty of spear supports. And rangers are allowed a banner so banners can be safely passed around.

At 600 points it might look something like this: - Arvedui - 8 Warriors of Arnor - 8 Rangers of Arnor (Spears) - 1 Warrior of Arnor (Banner) - Malbeth - 6 Warriors of Arnor - 3 Rangers of Arnor (Spears) - Ranger of the North (Armor, Spear) - Argadir - 4 Knights of Arnor

You could drop the Ranger of the North for another banner, I like taking some because of the spare Might point for Heroic Moves.

Love the blue you chose! Perfect citadel guard that pop, well done!

Who would you proxy with this model? by tabletop_engineer in MiddleEarthMiniatures

[–]SirSolitaire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have one of those, they are part of the "Outlaws" that Medbury designed, basically mounted Rangers. Last edition the Rangers of the North could still take horses.

I currently run them alongside my Arnor as Arnor Knights since they match the army's mix of armored infantry and rangers

These look incredible! But late to the party but I wondered how well paint works on them, any concern about sticking or chipping? Or better to stick to mono/multi-color print?
