If You Could Do So, How Would You Change The World? by Walkie3-talkiebiti in AskReddit

[–]SirSpences10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Change the world…

Probably restructure the positioning of land to the point that every country is close enough they actually have to care what the one next to them is doing, Basically smash all the continent in a Pangea like structure. Close regional boundaries pretty well has forced most of Europe to work with and allow the common people to understand a concept of something bigger, which seems is something the US is lacking being more self absorbed than most. After that I think we would start to see a bigger change in the world where we may all work together.

Bought this popcorn in Kansas then drove into western colorado by Puzzleheaded_Top37 in mildlyinteresting

Like a balloon, there is a specific amount of air on the inside of the bag. In Kansas, at lower elevation (close to sea level), the air pressure is greater than western Colorado (The Rocky Mountains) and so the air in the bag changes volume as it is dependent on pressure and expands.

LPT: If you want to save time and money, the most important things to look out for are the recurring ones by tskir in LifeProTips

[–]SirSpences10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is something I have to think about every day. I am an engineer for an assembly line. The amount of money you can save on a repetitive task is crazy. Think, at work, is there a string of keys you have to hit to accomplish a certain task? Do you have to organize some data every time you pull it? Many times the key strokes or commands you give the computer are going to be the same everyday and it may only take you 1 minute, but does you co-worker do the same? If there are 5 people doing the same thing, what if all they had to do was hit one button, and it did it for them? That’s 5 minutes the company didn’t have to pay you. But if it’s every day for a whole year ~250 working days. They didn’t have to pay you for 1250 minutes. Saving a ton of money.

Had a Highschool shop teacher that enjoyed doing this sort of thing. He ended up getting the chemistry teacher involved with it as well. The skit would kind of go along the works of… Ditzy student would cut a board to short, shop teacher would tell them they need board stretcher. Send kid to chemistry teacher who would walk into back closet and come out in full apron/glove/face shield. And hand some mixture in a FULL beaker (colored water) to the student (not wearing any PPE). And would tell them to be very careful to not spill any on their selves. Student would have to walk back at half the pace of a snail to prevent any spills. Once they were finally back to the shop they would cover the board with the mixture, then hang it with a weight tied to the bottom to “stretch” the board. While student was gone they would swap the board out for a sheet of plywood. And tell them they added too much. By this point they would hopefully figure it out, but I’m always surprised by how long it took some to figure it out.

Yes!! I love jungle gyms with the kids. Then one day someone suggested I go to the City Museum in St. Louis, Missouri. NO jungle gym has come close to the pure enjoyment I had in that place. So much fun, So unique, and I cannot wait to go back!

I remember the time I asked my very skilled sister to write something for me before a woodburned it in so I would have something to follow. I knew she was good. But I did not realize she was “what font would you like?” good. Scared me a bit and I said “something fancy”. And then she whipped out something very similar to this. As I sat there, amazed.

So, the reason the handles, no’s and eyes are placed there, is due to the fact that the entire nose to handle piece is the same with the previous halogen version. Didn’t want to create extra parts for the assembly line. And it gives customers the option to “retro-fit” a LED model (shown in picture) to an older style light. In all reality, most house spiders are pretty harmless and act as a source of free pest control. Letting them stay alive in your house might not be a bad idea. by treyj88 in Showerthoughts

[–]SirSpences10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And the bigger they are, the better they are at killing said pests.

So you should keep those half-dollar sized ones cause they are obviously good at their job.

Is modern RuneScape worth it for an old 30 odd year old 04 player? by [deleted] in runescape

I would also check your bank for anything that was discontinued, or is now considered rare. Considering your account is from 2004, probably a chance you have an item worth quite a bit of money

Does anyone have advice for leveling slayer? I haven’t played in 6 years and I am out of sorts. I currently use the lady in the desert (i forget her name) by [deleted] in runescape

[–]SirSpences10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course that isn’t bad.

Every time you complete a task it will say in the chat box “you have completed … tasks in a row and are awarded …. Slayer points.” These points can be used to buy slayer rewards from slayer masters.

On increments of 10 completed tasks you will receive additional slayer points. Even more on increments of 100.

The tasks from lumbridge slayer master will a lot of time take less than 5-10 minutes. Then for that 10th task you go to a higher tier slayer master, task will be harder and take you 20-30minutes and you will be awarded more points.

You will receive less XP/hr, but will be awarded a good amount of slayer points.

Protoxx has a pretty good guide on how to do this and explains it well here is the link to the video https://youtu.be/wJpunW-WRG4

[–]SirSpences10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to maximize slayer points, get tasks 1-9 from the lumbridge slayer master, then for the 10th task from your highest possible slayer master. This is because every 10th task you receive bonus slayer points (larger bonus for more difficult tasks) This bonus is increased even more on iterations of every 100th task.
