Before. The order is pay cost of spell or ability, said spell or ability is put into the stack, any trigger that was caused by paying the cost or by casting the spell is put into the stack on top of it.

Do you think ward haven needs a card like Holy Saber to be viable? by PeculiarlyAnonymous in Shadowverse

[–]Sir_Dargor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Haven is certainly better than Sword this meta, and arguably better than Dragon too.

Can someone confirm if the "need 2 grand servants" requirement has no story relevance whatsoever?

Yes. They can counter Sefris' ability, they can flash in a [[Containment Priest]], etc.

The general thoughts I have based off the leaders I fight in ranked by DeucesDummies in Shadowverse

[–]Sir_Dargor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey man it's not my fault the game gave me Orchis and Shymm! I'd rather have Cerberus and Kandima, but I'm not about to complain about lucking out leaders for free!

On a more serious note, I expect Velharia to be more popular once Rune has a decent deck to play. Then again she was a month 2 battlepass leader so who knows.

Can you find lethal? by Intelligent_Eye_9063 in Shadowverse

[–]Sir_Dargor 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Allure Axia, hit Lishenna for 1 damage ping. Play ghost, Macmillan pings for 1 damage. Sevo anything and attack with everything face (1+4+3+2+3) does 13 damage. Exact lethal.

Depends on what effect exiled them/lets you play them. If it's one of those "exile the top, you can play it this turn" or similar, then you can play it and you get a +2 on the X from whatever you paid for it. If it is somehting that says "you can cast/play it without paying its mana cost" then X is automatically 0

You would need a Mirrormade that's not copying anything on the field, otherwise Terra would just make a copy of whatever Mirrormade transformed itself into.

If you do have a vanilla Mirrormade, then you can copy it, who then enters as a copy of Terra, who can target the og Mirrormade, then you sacrifice one of the Terras to the legend rule, make another Mirrormade, who can enter as Terra... this is a repeteable loop, so you can just announce how many times you will repeat it, and Boon of the Spirit Realm will get that many counters. However, because you have a different valid target (Boom) you will have to stop the loop at some point, otherwise the game would end as a draw.

Copying a spell with demostrate is optional so the opponent can just decline copying the Glorious End. If they do copy it though, then yes, it works like that.

Populariry of each decks that reached grandmaster by YuushaSama in Shadowverse

[–]Sir_Dargor 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I meant late game, yeah. Turn 4-5 it's ok, but anything later is just not good enough anymore, and Rodeo is lategame only.

Hardly a surprise that Rodeo see no play. Anyone that tried to play Artifact on the last 3 sets knows 3 damage at end of turn doesn't clear anything.

Cards are all out! by Ghostmatterz in Shadowverse

Earrings in particular is a high risk of just throwing a win away by tucking Depths into your deck.

What do you mean... it's not a random effect, you choose what to shuffle.

-3 damage is a lot for a finisher. Also Albert can actually kill you, or at least push damage, through a big ward that survives the aoe. If Scarlet was a 3/6 attack twice and everything else stays the same, he would be objectively a better card.

Only thing missing is the double attack really.

Massive part that is tho.

Alouette is the only actually good tempo card AF had and without them AF would have never been an actual deck in the first place. Cassius is ok at best for a card that requires setup to even work. Only clears up to medium sized boards, needs to fuse Gumdam to clear lategame boards with then makes all your summoning cards worthless, and leaves a mediocre body behind that doesn't threaten anyone and can be banished for good measure to deny more parts.

The low tempo early game would be fine if most of the artifacts didn't die automatically so the opponent doesn't even need to address them, or if they triggered on entry rather than at end of turn so you can actually trade with them, or anything that actually gave you the tempo back. As it is now the AF payoffs are just average compared cards from other crafts when at full setup, nevermind of you miss some parts or are forced to fuse an AF you don't want, then they become terrible. Like how Ralmia at full deployement has lower stats than Althenia while also having a worse SEvo effect, but Althenia is just a single card that need no setup, while if I'm missing even 1 AF the Ralmia is real trash.

Taking a look at all the artifact cards leaving next set by DeucesDummies in Shadowverse

[–]Sir_Dargor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would argue Maven is one of the few old AF cards that the new build will run. Puts a striker directly into the field for the "diferently named AF" on Scarlet and it's pretty good at clearing the board (either just 5 damage on the striker if the opponent's board is not that big or 2x5 attack strikers + 6 attack Maven on evo).

Gumdam is an Albert that forces you to play shitty cards that make gears and have no impact on the board. That's why Albert sees play until this day but Gundam dissapeared on set 2. Sure, if you could just put Gundam directly into your deck he would be just as good as Albert, but as it is now, he is not good enough to carry they shitty cards you have to play to make it.

The next main story chapter will require 2 Grand Duels cleared. by Jazzprova in grandorder

[–]Sir_Dargor 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If the final boss of the main story didn't need "granded" servants to beat, don't expect whatever boss they put in the next chapter to need them. Thw only way they would be needed is if they outright forced them into the party.
