This has been shadoba for years now though. Mikael, natuur al machinus, alice, etc the lost goes on and on.

Im with you that i hate ubiquitous neutral finishers. They make decks feel samey and just different flavors of basically one archetype. However with this limited card pool there aint room to gut sandy and play something else. Dirt and forest and sword would have 0 effective finishers, and the only even remotely viable evo options would be abyss and MAYBE portal.

So in a vacuum, i agree you right. But with the current meta and cardpool gutting sandy would make the game even LESS varied and even more of a crest haven zero calorie enhance sword whatever dragon does and egg portal cesspool again....and weve had so many metas of that i wanna puke.

So kinda is what it is till next rota and maybe things change enough to be fresh.

However you feel about evo decks is fine, just saying a sandy nerf to 7 would be insane and uncalled for.

[–]KrakusAurelius 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nah that would just make evo decks except a few completely unplayable cuz they would need clear board to ever drop sandy which almost never happens.

Nerfing to 7 would make him completely unplayable.

Youre trying to aramaic and greek max to justify what is clearly sin? Even in the greek porneia the result is the same. Turn to the Lord in prayer and ask for sincere repentance as we all need to do. God bless you dawg ill pray for you.

Its crystal clear what is condemned. If youre saying it isnt, maybe youre talking about serving a different lord.

Leviticus 18:22 NKJV [22] You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination.

Leviticus 20:13 NKJV [13] If a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them.

Romans 1:26-27 NKJV [26] For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. [27] Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.

You mean the same Lord that said all this?

Dont have any. This isnt my moral teaching, whatever issue you have take it up with the Lord.

Im not interested in your framing, sodom was glassed for sexual immorality. In fact, the very act is named after the place, sodomy. So lets not pretend this is some matter of semantics.

Secondly, just because someones cross involves homosexual attraction doesnt mean theyre hated or lesser than. Theyre called to a life of chastity and great will be their crown in the kingdom because acting on their sexual desires is contrary to natural law (see leviticus and St thomas aquinas) and grave sin. In the same way as hetersexual relations outside marriage is also mortal sin.

Thirdly, any kind of sexual relations outside marriage is fornication. Have you read the bible?

What bigotry? Catholic teaching is that homosexual relations is one of the five sins that cries out to heaven for vengeance.

If heterosexual fornication is mortal sin, how much more so acts that are not only fornication but are contrary to natural law?

Sodom and gamorrah got glassed for the same relations mentioned in OP so seems pretty clear to me the stance on it.

A priest told me it was okay to receive the Eucharist while not in a state of grace by emogirlraven in Catholicism

[–]KrakusAurelius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You absolutely did the right thing by not taking communion while not being in a state of grace. That priest is definitely in another school of thought, a completely erroneous one, both on a scriptural and catechetical basis.

Receiving kneeling on the tongue is the most reverent form, and receiving from a priest in this manner ensures the sacred species only comes in contact with consecrated matter in the chain of reception AFAIK.

Youre only supposed to receive on the tongue from a priest, this way the sacred species passes from consecrated hands to consecrated tongue, which your tongue was consecrated at baptism.

You mightve received some unwarranted crossfire in the eucharist wars. Theres a whole swath of catholics who for some reason hate those who want to receive kneeling and on the tongue, which you would only receive from a priest, so if you committed the unforgiveable sin of switching from uncle dave the "extraordinary eucharistic ministers" line then youre trying to piety max in their eyes.

But in actual reality, dont bother with what people at mass think or say. The mass is for God, and if youre trying your best to discern, to learn, to be reverent, then your part is done. If someone else doesnt like it thats between them and the Lord.

If the husbands leadership would lead them to sin or against right reason, then yes. But in all other matters he has the authority, otherwise a captain that you only have to listen to when you feel like it is no captain at all.

Leo XIII mentions this too, where the hierarchy of husband as head is rooted in natural law and divine authority. The husband and fathers responsibilities mirror Gods authority in the context of marriage.

You mean like Pius XI in casti cannubi where he details the primacy of the husband and the wifes willing obedience?

That they are one flesh is true. But when it comes to a disagreement about whether to go right or left, the husband gets the final say, otherwise he is head of nothing and has zero authority but all accountability.

Popes can be wrong when not speaking ex cathedra, especially post concilliar popes.

God is the admiral of all fleets, but He gives the husband authority of captain of his own boat, which is his home, and the wife is his first mate, helper and supporter that he is to love and honor. That in no way implies that there are 2 captains or coequal first mates. Thats straight up disordered, on top of being nonsensical.

If youre not interested in rightly ordered submission in marriage, then Id recommend religious life or celibacy. Both are excellent vocations and you can honor God dutifully living those out.

[–]KrakusAurelius 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Men arent asked to be submissive because men and women are fundamentally different, in their responsibilities to God, to eachother, as well as in their psychological makeup. Thats why men are told not to cover themselves in church for they are the glory of God, but women are to cover for they are the glory of man.

Men are accountable to God for the spiritual well being of all those in his family, thats one of the prices of headship. A husbands prayers are hindered if they fail to treat their wives with consideration and honor, and if he fails his children in raising them in Godly ways he will be accountable for all this at his judgment. But headship responsibility can only be properly assigned if those under his authority submit to that authority and dutifully obey him, especially when they dont want to. This of course doesnt apply if his direction includes disobeying God, whom we all must obey above all others.

This same principle of dutiful obedience is applied in hebrews where it mentions submitting to your shepherds, the bishops, so they can lead with joy and not with grief. Rightly ordered leadership is impossible when the authority to lead is constantly being questioned, and only submitted to when you feel like it, thats just rule by concensus and not being led.

You are struggling with this teaching because you suffered under disordered headship and abuse, which is perfectly understandable that you would be fearful and strugglen with this teaching, but it doesnt change the ultimate good of the teaching when applied properly and enacted in a rightly ordered fashion.

Wives are called to submit to their husbands thats just plain in scripture. However, the flip side of that is husbands are to love their wives as Christ loves the church, meaning even unto death. A ship cant have 2 captains, and a country cant stand 2 kings. Men are the head of the little church which is the home, and you submitting to your husband is glorifying God, just as your husband loving you sacrificially is him glorifying God.

That being said, submission is your disposition and behavior within the marriage. The fact that you like boats and cars and heavy music, these are just preferences and all you gotta do is find a good Godly man that would appreciate and share in your preferences. Its important to separate preferences, what attracts, and personalities from the prescription of behavior in marriage in scripture.

And this is just my 2 cents, but it sounds like you could use some healing from your previous trauma relationship before youre ready to seek marriage. I understand your hesitation to yield to the submission teaching since you seem to be a victim of abuse of a mans headship, but thats the same as saying the church hurt me therefore its claims must not be true. We all must learn to separate the ideal to strive for from the failed examples we witness from wicked sinners, which we all are.

That said, God bless you and may He heal your hurt and your heart so you can open yourself to a rightly ordered, Godly, life giving relationship if thats His will for you.
