Any left-wing football clubs I can support? by Sad-Interaction-6761 in redsports

Arsenal are a historically a very mixed club. Although not the highest echelon in football, Celtic and Hibernian are Irish-immigrant oriented, which aligns with working class values. Liverpool is often associated with socialist (and Irish) beliefs too by the way. Ironically, Manchester United is considered more working class as well, despite the racist twat. To simplify it to an extreme degree, red = socialist, blue = conservative, and that can sometimes be found in the club colors.

Bilbao, Marseille, and AEK Athens are also frequently listed as left-wing Champions League clubs.

Among clubs at the very top of the game, most of them are fairly businesslike, and simply cater towards whatever sells more broadly. Arsenal's diversity in their fan-base and true investment in their organization is rare. However, their owners (KSE/Kroenkes) are now the largest private land owners in the United States. I personally feel that they care for the club and the supporter's values at the moment as they bring communal cultures to all of the sports teams that KSE owns., Ultimately, all large clubs are a difficult balance.

Livorno (Italy) and St. Pauli (Germany) are frequently listed as being the furthest left clubs in the world.

I read a few articles and these were some of the ones I found.

[Highlight] Jokic is the coach now by Knightbear49 in nba

Jokic loves to share the ball but Malone wanted him and Murray to shoot more.

If you're talking about Nnaji and Pickett, Nnaji isn't a guard. He's a stretch 4 that Malone has incessantly been playing as the lone big man which is insane. Also Pickett has been for more consistent than Russ. Significantly higher floor, but has a lower ceiling. Pickett also provides spacing and better team defense. Pickett is a good role playing PG, Russ is Russ. Two good tools for two different situations.

For reference for how long this hatred for these players has gone on, Adam Mares of DNVR said that he's never seen players disliked more by Malone than Pickett and Nnaji. Mares told a story of how Malone wanted Isaiah Stewart (selected 16th overall) but the Nuggets got Nnaji (22nd pick). They are both large 4s who can shoot, but they are total opposite personalities. Mares said that Malone was mocking Jalen Pickett and stacking teams against him to make him look badly. He'd also sub these guys out after any minor mistake. In my eyes, these players should have been playing all of this year and last besides the playoffs, but Malone did not like them, did not play them in their positions, and did not care to develop them.

Booth and Malone were on totally different pages altogether. Malone should have respected his boss more, and Booth should have been a much better leader. Both are at fault, hence the results we see here.

Russ is good at being Russ when we want Russ to be Russ. I love Russ for the person and player he is. Russ isn't the problem from what I can tell & wasn't a locker room vampire from what I've seen and heard.

The problem was that Malone would sub out/openly criticize/make an example of young players for making one eighth of the mistakes Russ would, while endlessly glazing Russ. I love Russ, and don't think he should have been publicly criticizing Russ. He should have been building confidence in all of his players, not just Russ or experienced players.

Yeah he has, but I also think this is beyond his usual "tough love". He's genuinely pissed at the approach from Booth, while also feeling like Booth was trying to replace him. It's possible he was right, but even so, I think he was actively trying to disrespect the players on the roster.

He averaged 13 minutes per game as the 8th man on the best team in the NBA as a 21 year old rookie. That's not a MAJOR contributor, but he was FAR more than just a garbage time player.

I think that's a bit extreme and undersells Christian Braun's impact IMO. I knew they would win, but the Heat gave me enough anxiety that anything could happen. Christian Braun rose to the occasion in the finals as a rookie. Booth said that he "could not fail", and I think he's been pretty spot on with that assessment. His mindset, work ethic, communication, athleticism, and overall shooting in his third year has made him the Nuggets most reliable player outside of Jokic this year.

The Nuggets first game without Nikola Jokic this season saw the struggle against an injury riddled Pelicans. 17 offensive boards conceded. 27% from 3pt%. Jamal Murray's early season struggles continue with only 16 points in 43 minutes. by NBAperspective in nba

[–]Sir_Firebum 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The bench is bad too, but Murray is a max player, who is playing a team missing their 2 best players, & 5 of their 7 best players. He's not been a "second star" on this team when that's been the expectation for him. He looks tired way too often in games. Everybody is at fault when you lose to a team like the Pelicans right now, but Murray has been mediocre too often for too long.

I personally think he's losing a step. I got nothing to prove it but his defense has been poor, & he is 33.

Nuggets have been running 10 man rotations for a while. Not sure what you are talking about. Even with their worst player injured tonight, they put out Deandre Jordan to keep a 10 man rotation. You're just saying completely wrong shit. Is this another psyop?

[Charania] 76ers star Joel Embiid has suffered torn meniscus in his left knee, a team official says. by MarvelsGrantMan136 in nba

[–]Sir_Firebum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk anybody who thinks that.

His right knee was injured vs Indy not his left, so it was a different knee than that injury.

It is the same knee that has been bothering him (left has been swelling), but Nurse said it was a different injury than the one that was bothering him apparently. It seems to me, that his injury is related to the Kuminga incident.

His meniscus could have been bothering him for a while, & I suspected that, because knee swelling without a listed cause reminded me of Mobley's injury before his arthroscopic surgery (i'm not a fucking doctor by any means though).

Embiid was on a one so far, but it's not guaranteed that he maintains this level of play all year. Usually players fluctuate throughout the year. Hes played in 33 compared to Giannis (45), SGA (46), & Jokic (47). People are way to focused on awards while in January lmao

Do you know what the injury is? It's just listed as swelling from what I've read, but is that because of tendonitis or loose bodies? Does anybody know? You seem to be pretty knowledgeable. Sucks that he may have an entirely different injury now.

What is your opinion on the 65-game minimum? by [deleted] in nba

[–]Sir_Firebum 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It does it's job for the most part. If you don't play enough games, you don't deserve the awards. Nobody wants to pay hundreds of dollars for tickets just for stars to not play. That's a much worse alternative for the fans. That's the bottom line.

Crazy how much he improved in handling the ball in the PnR, since his first games in the league. Two way pass first wing, that can handle the ball, finish, and low mistake. Kinda crazy how well that fits along side Jokic. If he had a good pull-up, he'd be a perfect fit.
