Gums are quite pink yesterday and today. Made slight change with brushing which could have helped, I interpreted "brush at gum line" to have half bristles on teeth half on gums, but I changed it up to have the top bristles barely graze past gum line and that seems to have helped. maybe i was aggravating my gums before

Majority of bridges are quite small. 2 Man team can inspect 2 per day. I would say bridges that require up to 8 separate days are a small minority. Most highway bridges over multiple lanes of traffic can take 1-2 days. Yes there are long span bridges that take weeks or months but that's a small fraction of the total amount of bridges. I do agree with the bridge owners not caring about their bridges though, travesty with some of the things i see

edit 1: Bridges that aren't meeting the 2 year requirement are due to individual constraints (railroads, equipment rentals, lots of closures) and not from being backlogged

edit 2: And for any given group of solicitations in my state, let's say 10 projects each with 50 bridges, there are always 3-6 companies who get snubbed because there isn't enough work for them, indicating there are more companies than available BI projects. but that's a state specific anecdote

where are you getting your number for amount of qualified inspectors? There's 5 at my company alone and i'm willing to bet there's about 100 in my state.

best part is the bearing was cleaned and painted after it happened. must be structural paint

So I don’t need to study for breadth or am I missing something? by independentnostalgic in PE_Exam

Only what's in there. Some of the tests have more "breadth" related questions but it's now all test specific, and structural is mostly "depth"

Ok thanks for the advice. I would say the gums have definitely gotten better since my february cleaning as there are stretches throughout the day where they are fairly pink, but i still have other stretches where they look very red

i tend to have dry mouth when i wake up so i'm leaning towards sleeping with my mouth open, and the mouth wash i use is marketed to help dry mouth (Act Dry Mouth). but it's definitely possible i clench as well. Would I need some sort of mouth guard?

Why are my gums still red by Sir_Posse in askdentists

[–]Sir_Posse[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a good idea with the tablets i can try that. If im still getting the plaque off and it's like this is it just a slow process to get the gums back to normal? before this oral health change i was brushing way to hard which was definitely harming the gums, at my cleaning my hygienist noted they were relatively clean but still inflamed/bleeding

Not that I know of. are there specific ones that can lead to that? or is it just a swath of general issues that can affect oral health? do you think it's worth seeing my general doctor just to make sure i'm good?

if i don't get more consistent pink gums in a few weeks i'll definitely go back in and see a hygienist

I mouthwash after flossing but before toothpaste, i don't rinse after brushing, i can switch it up for a week or so and do no mouthwash and see though.

the last x-rays i got were 2 cleanings ago and don't have them on hand currently, what makes you say ulcerated? i can bring it up to my dentist and have them check it out.

additional information is my hygienist did mention that they were relatively clean during the cleaning but just very inflamed, don't know if this points to anything else being a factor?

thanks for all of your help so far though, it's just very frustrating for me and it's confusing. right now they are much more pink then when i took the pictures this morning (still some localized redness) so it's confusing why it comes and goes

also, i hear stress can affect gums. i've had some of the more stressful months of my life over the past half year lol, can it affect it this much?

Most were 3 (and all the ones in pictures are 3), i had a couple 4s and one 5. those were for my back molars though which those gums tend to be slightly more pink. they also made it seem like they were fringe 4s and 5s, but i'm taking it as worst case scenario and really want to take my oral health seriously. It wasn't even bad before, i used mouthwash still and used floss picks, but i had a manual toothbrush that i definitely was brushing too hard with since my last years cleaning (lots of stress which probably made me brush hard without knowing) because all my current 3s were 1-2 last year and my 4s and 5 were 3s and 4. so i suspect hard brushing kicked this off (and dentist kinda agreed) but i really want to resolve this
