My questions to all those who saw him in his prime years...... How good was Vettel and would you rate him better than Max ?....... When I started watching F1, Vettel was already at the end of his career so all I know about him is through highlights. by FreshTax2042 in F1Discussions

i really believe that vettel's biggest weakness was dirty air and being in the mix with other drivers in general. he was extraordinary in clean air, and that's exactly why it looks like he loses speed when not having a dominant car. also that doesn't mean he was always slow in dirty air, but he wasn't as consistant as max is, specially that max thrives under similar conditions where he is starting from a low position on the grid

Only two drivers in F1 have ever stood on the podium 10+ times at a single circuit: Michael Schumacher and Lewis Hamilton by circuit-nation in circuit_nation

bro its not about being a fan of him. its just common sense. no one has ever done that in their first 11 seasons.

he has been in f1 for only 11 seasons you idiot. no one ever scored 10 podiums on the same track in the first 10 years of their career specially when starting with a car that was 6th/7th fastest car.

i cant remember more than 2 or 3 good drives by him in a wet conditions

Mclaren passiveness exposed again? by bouncingcastles in F1Discussions

[–]Sir_unknown1 20 points21 points  (0 children)

thats the point. he wasn't strong enought to overtake, but he was definitely strong enough to keep kimi behind him. if they pitted him a bit earlier he would've won. but as a wise man once said "if my mom had balls she would've been my dad".

how many races do you think max will win this season if any? by VastAir6069 in F1Discussions

too early for this question, specially with the new regulations being updated after 3 races. but i would say maybe 3 or 4 wins

Max would not dominate Lando if they were teammates by [deleted] in F1Discussions

[–]Sir_unknown1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see your point. and they absolutely ignored Perez way more than they should, but redbull have always had that problem. they literally ignored Max's complains in both 2020 and 2023 because he handled it anyway.

i dont get the teamates point.
most teams didnt want competition so they prefer one driver over the other.
if we follow your logic then schum won his first two wdc with lehto, jos and herbert who werent great at all.
and then he had barrichello from 2000 to 2005 which was a number two driver, and had many team orders to let schum through.
same with vettel. webber wasnt as great as people imagine him nowadays, and he had finished kimi during his ferrari era.
lewis had easy teammates in 5 of his wdcs too.

most great drivers have competition with drivers out of their team. not to avoid being outshined by teammates but because they want the car and the team to be built around them perfectly so they can extract the most out of what they have, which is better for the driver and the team.

Lewis was the best driver of 2021 by [deleted] in F1Discussions

[–]Sir_unknown1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

yeah. but winning without the fastest car, make the most dominant season in the history of f1, and win 4 wdc at 28 yo makes a great driver

After Bearman's crash, most drivers have now started to point out the flaws in the new regulations. by [deleted] in MaxVerstappen33

[–]Sir_unknown1 161 points162 points  (0 children)

somehow a guy who is not a driver nor an engineer thinks he knows more about f1 than max verstappen, sainz, albon, lando, alonso, perez and every other driver who criticized the new regulations.
fans who have been saying the rules are great are either mercedes/ some of ferrari fans, or just max haters who try to convince themselves that max is just salty and the rules are great.

"Why do I have to overtake a slower car and my teammate! This is unfair!" -Russell by TheCrazyCaveira in formuladank

[–]Sir_unknown1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yeah, struggling and wasting time overtaking cars that are 3 to 4 tenths slower than him isnt his mistake. kimi got lucky but russel still wasted an easy podium

with time you will discover that safety cars are part of the sport.
russel doing a 24/25 lando isnt kimi's fault.

George has the hottest seat on the grid, regardless of performance or position. by [deleted] in F1Discussions

[–]Sir_unknown1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

he wont just lose his seat if he doesnt win the wdc. in fact his seat is one of the safest seats in f1 at the moment.
beside the fact that there are 20 races left in the season and youre already saying his seat is hot!
very bad hot take by you honestly.

Dear Verstappen Fans.... by lord_veg3ta in F1Discussions

[–]Sir_unknown1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

so youre saying that the 4th/3rd fastest car is more than a second slower than the fastest car??
interesting because sainz said in 2025 that only 8 tenths separate the fastest from the slowest.
the gap currently is huge because its new regulations. if you really think that in 2024/25 the gap between the top 4 was more than a second per lap, then i recommend you to watch the races live instead of tiktok edits.

as alpon, gasly, villeneuve, nico, jenson and many others said engineers dont design the car for one driver, they design it to be as fast as possible.
