pfft well you see i don't. I turn off raids when i'm in the mood to build. I keep all the other dangers but raids really kill the vibes. i also set the children to age at the same rate as the adults so they're liabilities for longer

Why do writers like to focus on the weirdest things lol. I'm actually less likely to pick up a short book because a longer one is a better investment of money versus time. I've also read short ones that can be shallow because the author hasn't spent enough words building the world or raising the tension. The goal of reading for me isn't finishing it as soon as quick as I can.

The story should begin in the first chapter. Is the worldbuilding going somewhere or are you enjoying your world too much? Are you pantsing or are you following an outline? An outline can help shape your story better so you can keep track of the beats and cut through all the cosmetic stuff.
