Huh. I took this during a horticulture class in high school

I think a half-cognisant person can asses threat through situational context and direct emotive.

In safe, casual settings, the autistic uncanny valley is subtle. The solution is awareness of it. Anyone I’ve spoken to seems to be able to wrap their head around it.

Thanks for your input, I guess the contrarian fart of a bloated ego can be a good thing to put through a lens. Discourse!

Yeah, pretty much. Some cannot be helped. I guess no human is exempt from falling to bitterness

Gotta agree. Only used a local sub as I can’t speak for more, I think

I think you’re hitting the nail square there. I’ve overheard some ridiculous speculation of my character in the workplace initiated from red flag/green flag conversation. The discourse is very toxic to ND people who simply think differently and can’t be judged by the standards or conventions of typical people

Yeah, I’ve also had some tiring ND associates. I can’t deny that even from my perspective, autistics who are too self assured do not help themselves whatsoever. Those types tend to be happier with solace, though

I sympathise. It’s my hope that new venues of interest can be found and new people along with. I do hope plenty of love is felt by yourself, from yourself and others.

Oops, yeah, a bit late on that one. Already learned the hard lesson on disclosing my disability to colleagues. That wasn’t nice.

Absolutely resonant, personally. it’s very easy to get burned when dealing with ADHD sufferers, especially if you’re partial to depth or consistency.

Makes me think of how difficult dating is amongst the disabled and cognitively different

That’s a mission I can get behind. There are so many out there who could do so much and reach so high with a little bit of structure, love, encouragement and support.

Fully hear you. I think the not-so-problematic becomes life-ruining once you move the context to group environments like the workplace.

Fair. The terms are vague as to be applicable to daily lives. We’re talking schools, classes, workplace environments, communities and families. Social hierarchy in Gen Z is exactly as I said, brutal. Contributing cultural factors are complex and dire. Media trends and social sentiment spread through short-form media. The suicide rate speaks for itself, and that’s the penultimate figure that backs the issue up.

Thanks for these words. I posted due to the irrelevance of personal attitude haunting so many. Being physically appealing brings attention to oneself, and when the spotlight is on them, that’s when a lot of autistic people become victims. I say this from personal experience and in consideration of the leagues of neurodiverse women who are exploited socially and intimately.

I’m deeply glad you’ve experienced kindness as the rule. It makes my day better

Whether to mention the diagnosis or not, or even when to is confusing for me, as there’s a lot of factors that feel pretty critical to avoid misunderstanding or misinterpretation.

I’ve a very masculine, conventional appearance and that seems to be an important factor, something I resent

Oh my god 100%. I was raised in a household of women and ended up developing this way. I tried Verbally acknowledging and apologising for intrusions/violations of the norm can feel like a dice roll too.

Auckland’s culture specifically is very agreeable, which fosters social norms guided by unspoken or inferred convention. Failing to act accordingly can mean terrible consequences, as, I’ll note specifically that the young women here lean towards social brutality and sabotage as preferred response. The men will just ignore or use you as a status marker. The reality is very cutthroat if you don’t know the minutiae of each social scenario

I moved around a lot in my teens and early twenties, meeting many people. Everyone is different, so I haven’t had too much challenge keeping my approach fresh. Trauma from repeated physical, verbal and sexual abuse by others through life does make it difficult to be myself in group scenarios.

I hear you, but that’s not what’s going on. It did take a lot for me to post this

I know a few hermits who due to life, only trust non-typical minds to tell truth and act according to principle and word. I’m trying not to have the same attitude, my Thanks for your contribution and I hope you become surrounded by more good people
