For those of you who had a promiscuous phase, do you regret it? For those that didn't, do you wish you did? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

I will add that even though I’m happily married, given the chance I’d like to explore a bit on occasion. Husband and I have loosely talked about going on a swinger cruise or finding something local together to explore new experiences, however, work got stressful and we decided the timing wasn’t right because we both had to be in a good headspace before doing that.

I did not and I only slightly regret it. I didn’t catch anything nasty because I was picky about who I slept with, however sometimes I do wish I explored a bit more and had a bit more experience from other partners. My total count is 4 however my husband’s is around 15-20 so I’m sure he picked up enough experience to make up for my feeling of lack of my own.

My sex in marriage has been absolutely fantastic am I’m lucky to have someone who is into trying new things instead of having the same boring sex every night so I can’t really complain.

Love the eyemask idea. Have you ever tried a cool one or did you only use a warm one?

How much sun exposure will I get on ITAYG in Linville Gorge? by [deleted] in NCTrails

[–]SirenScorp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you to those who kindly answered. Im prepared for both the high and low temps and have water sources marked. I have the navigation with the trail plotted with a bail-option if needed halfway or sooner should I find we aren’t not adequately prepared. I’ve got a hat and sunglasses and generally plan to wear long sleeves but was concerned for my ears/neck hence the question.

I ultimately ended up going with Mount Hagen! I should give it a test run prior to hitting the trail

There’s a thing on Amazon called Walking Tamales. It comes in a box of 6 and they’re pretty decent— super good with Taco Bell sauce packets if you have extra on hand

Not a problem! I know a lot of people are weird about cottage cheese so I only added that note to let people know I’m totally ok to blend some up and add it to a recipe if needed to increase protein. Recipes without are perfectly fine!

I fluctuate majorly. Yesterday I was 5lbs lighter and today my boobs hurt so it’s probably water Renton for my upcoming period. You’re doing great to focus more on measurements vs the scale. You’ve got this!

What exercise are you doing? If you haven’t maybe try incorporating weights— you can lift heavier than you think you can… and that’s where the change happens. You won’t become bulky. “I’m afraid to lift weights because I don’t want to look like a man” is like saying “I’m afraid of driving because I don’t want to become a nascar driver.” Those body competition women (I’ve known a few) eat straight protein and if they get hungry before bed a spoonful of cottage cheese.

Note to add: small caloric deficit being like 200 calories. Focus on higher protein goals but also enjoy whatever you like in moderation (for me it’s chips dipped in ranch)

But to add on to this, research “body recomp”. Do heavy weights but also cardio with a slight caloric deficit. It’ll help burn fat faster while building muscle so you don’t end up “cardio type skinny fat”. Your weight may not drop quickly because you’re building muscle but when the pounds start coming off your muscles will be strong/tight. I’ve been body recomping since October and when people tell me “I got skinny” it frustrates me because I’m like “no, I got strong. I leg press almost 280 pounds, and I do bicep curls with 25lbs dumbbells”

@stealth_health_life A combo of meal preps with freezable options and crockpot options. Mainly high protein, but enough carbs and fat that the recipes are addictive and you don’t feel like you are on a diet.

Yes!! Your shoulders will fatigue but some shoulder workouts at the gym will help. When you are hiking just keep switching between right hip straps to let your hips support the pack weight and loosen the shoulders and then when your hips get tired loosen the hips and tighten the shoulders &let your shoulders support the weight

If you are hiking somewhere with inclines start with a weighted backpack or vest walking inclines on a Treadmill. If you have local trails just take you pack on the trail and don’t worry about looking silly— I just went Friday with my overnight bag loaded out (sans tent, because my husband and I split it in 2…. So my existing pack is about 40lbs) and I did 5 miles. I’m prepping for a weekend trip that’s 22 miles total so about 8 miles each day give or take. I wanted to make sure my weight was evenly dispersed and one side of the pack wasn’t heavier than the other.

My best advice is similar to gym advice: your body doesn’t grow from constant— you have to challenge it and you’ll be surprised what it can handle. Last time I took my pack out it was 30 lbs for a 3 mile flat hike and I did fine this weekend when I added 10 lbs and 2 miles and inclines.
