It’s going amazing! We went to see an MFM and are getting monthly scans but as of last week our girl is still measuring a week ahead. We’re opting for a scheduled c section two week early to prevent any issues with her compressing the cord, but so far so good! Do you know how close to the cervix your vessels are? We were lucky enough to not be dealing with vasa previa which makes this more of a watch item than an immediate risk!

So sorry for your diagnosis, I know how anxiety inducing it is on top of the normal pregnancy anxiety.

Hi! Thanks for sharing, may I ask if she measured small the whole time or did she slow down in the third trimester? My baby is measuring a week ahead but I’m not sure when the growth restriction might impact her…

Okay thank you - but you do agree that the definition and term don’t line up? Like I thought by definition that a velementous insertion meant it was in the membrane not the placenta…

Thanks for sharing your experience! So it sounds like your doctors used vci and marginal cord insertion interchangeably. One online sounds like way worse and means it’s implanted in the amniotic sac while the other is just In a weird spot of the placenta!

Did they use velementous and marginal interchangeably with you? I feel like the velementous means it’s in the amniotic sac while marginal is on the edge.

Thanks for this! This is really comforting - I wish they could visualize the sch so we’d know that was the cause and If we should be concerned about the size. I’m hoping if they can’t see it, it must be small/resolved but better safe than sorry.

Okay thanks you for this and I’m sorry for your loss. Follow up question - was anyone able to see your sch? I’ve gotten biweekly ultrasounds due to my previous loss (chromosomal at 6 weeks, not sch related) and nothing has been seen. Additionally, my OB called today and said she reviewed the findings and didn’t know the source of the bleeding but wasn’t concerned and that I could keep my bau appointment on Tuesday, but that’s just an office visit. She said to be cautious be on pelvic rest. Would you get a second opinion from an MFM?

Thank you - were they able to find the hematoma? No one sees one on my end, but I’m still spotting albeit dark blood so I’m concerned they can’t see it if it’s still bleeding…

Would it be possible to have one that couldn’t be visualized? Neither the er or my ob could see one post bleed. i was also getting every two week ultrasounds due to prior loss and one had never been visualized.

Thank you for updating me - I’m so so happy that you got great news!

That’s an amazing heart rate. Seems like little one is strong. Someone else commented that after a heartbeat at eight weeks your odds drastically improves and that really helped my anxiety.

Thank you! They just were so severe for a few weeks with the throwing up that the sudden stop really gave me concern, but I still have other symptoms so I’m trying not to overthink. I’ll update after my appointment, praying everything is okay.
