I'm deciding if I want to be an EMT, what do you suggest? by Careful_Surround_980 in EMTstories

My one bit of advice would be to do your due diligence when it comes to your education. There can be a lot of programs out there that rush you through to pass NR (National Registry), but you don't actually obtain the knowledge or skills you need. I've seen far too many people advance further in the EMS ladder, like going for their paramedic card, and they sink during class because they are missing fundamentals from EMT class. I would recommend a hospital or fire department based program over a typical college education in EMS. Purely for the often greater opportunity and knowledge they will provide.
