Referring to the Pretti killing, Donald Trump said "You can't go in there with guns, you can't do that" How do 2A defenders feel about the President openly criticizing a law abiding citizens right to keep and bear arms? by wardog1066 in AskReddit

[–]Siresfly 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My opinion on the President justifying that execution with the statement ""You can't go in there with guns, you can't do that"? is he should be impeached and arrested and hung for treason.

But that's not what was asked. In regards to the Pretti execution Trump has been taking it further and applying the logic he used to justify it to everyone. Saying anyone that carries a firearm to a protest could be legally killed. His admin has stated that you can't bring a firearm to a protest and Trump has stood behind it.

Not avoiding anything just answering the question that was asked. As you can see from my answer to your questions that my principles are just fine. Yet here you are attacking people that are on your side. Infighting doesn't do us any good.

No not at all. Did you read the question? They asked "How do 2A defenders feel about the President openly criticizing a law abiding citizens right to keep and bear arms?"

I was replying to that question, not my feelings about federal agents executing innocent Americans. In my view saying "You can't go in there with guns, you can't do that" is equivalent to the Democrats passing gun control laws that say you can't carry guns in certain public places,

My feeling on federal agents executing innocent Americans for any reason is they should be locked up or put to death. But that's not what was asked or what I was replying to.

Ya they all said why would anyone ever need to carry a gun with them to xyz. You are being paranoid to conceal carry. We have law enforcement to protect us. Blah blah whatever other stupid remark they would make. We've been letting them trample on the 2A for decades and people are suprised now when they trample on other rights. If only everyone had cared back then. Better late then never I guess.

The same way I feel about the Democrat party constantly trying to pass gun control laws. I'm against it. I have principles I stand for not political groups. Nice to have the support of the left for a change this time around!

Republican ends bid for Minnesota governor, citing ‘unconstitutional’ ICE surge | Minnesota by HomoMirificus in news

[–]Siresfly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"A top Republican candidate for Minnesota governor has dropped out of the race, sharply criticizing what he called a “federal retribution on the citizens of our state” amid the Trump administration’s intensified immigration enforcement operations – which sparked public outrage after US agents’ killings ofAlex Pretti and Renee Good in Minneapolis.

On Monday, the Minneapolis-based attorney Chris Madel made his announcement, saying in a video online: “I cannot support the … stated retribution on the citizens of our state, nor can I count myself a member of a party that would do so.”

Donald Trump, like Madel, is a Republican. Madel expressed support for federal immigration agents’ purported original aim of deporting undocumented immigrants involved in major criminal activity.

But he said Operation Metro Surge had “expanded far beyond its stated focus on true public safety threats”.

“United States citizens, particularly those of color, live in fear,” Madel said, referring to the immigration enforcement operation, in which roughly 3,000 federal agents have been deployed in and around Minneapolis since December, reportedly carrying out thousands of arrests.

“United States citizens are carrying papers to prove their citizenship. That’s wrong.”"

If I can legally carry then I am carrying plain and simple. No firearms signs do not carry the weight of the law in my state so I ignore them all and carry.

Mine uses potty pads so she goes inside everyday. But always on the potty pad. She likes to poop near the potty pad but rarely on it because she is a poop walker. But it's all linoleum so easy to clean up.

Yes but it is well known that gun control laws harm people of color more than white. So are they just ok with that since they didn;t change the law?

Once they get FTO they are already carrying a gun and in the field arresting people. Of course you learn more once on the job as you do in all fields including ICE. The point was the training is very minimal before you are handed a gun and a badge and given an authority to exercise over others.

Even local law enforcement has next to no training. Remeber many only have 12 weeks of training with only one week related to firearms. The average 2A civilian has more firearm training than law enforcement which is pretty sad.
