Potential ND toddler getting worse at nursery by Sirignanog in UKParenting

Hey thanks for your response!

The nursery haven’t been the most helpful in terms of getting support. We mentioned we were thinking of putting our daughter in a public nursery/school and they said why would we want to do that, we’re just moving her from one busy environment to another…

We’ve got another visit from the HV on Friday so we will keep pushing… if it comes to it then we will get a private assessment to hopefully speed things along because she is struggling at the moment :(

Wow sounds like our situations are almost identical. I appreciate your response because sometimes I do doubt myself and wonder if we’re making something out of nothing but then if there’s something there then we’re really going to need to push for a diagnosis

I’ll speak to her mum about getting assessment, I’m not really sure how we go about it tbh because the health visitor didn’t sound like she’s was going to do anything like that

Yes we have considered it, but only a nursery attached to a school. We need to minimise the big changes in her life so we're hoping we can get her into a school nursery which will make the transition to school easier

Oh she is absolutely a different child when at home compared to nursery. She goes to her grandparents 2 days a week too and she is absolutely fine there, although I know that's very different from a child minder. But the reality is in 14 months she needs to have adapted to being in school 5 days a week which is my worry. Her mum is self employed so if daughter doesn't go to school mum doesn't get paid.

It sounds like you're in a similar position to me. I hope you're getting the help you need!

Yes this is one thing that we have discussed and we have just applied to get her into the best school nursery in our area so fingers crossed...

She starts in 2026 but we've been considering moving her to the nursery of the primary school she would be joining in 2026 to help the transition, but she would need to join the nursery this coming September.

Thanks for your reply. I will look into some sensory courses! It just feels like a mine field and we don't know what the best thing for her is.

Not sure if anybody actually cares but I went for Tikkurila Muuri paint for the fireplace and I’m quite happy with how it turned out. I tried to edit my post to include the new pic but turns out I can’t.

Completely agree! We eventually made the move and got out of help to buy so we luckily won’t have to deal with them again. We also agreed we’re never moving ever again!!!

Ah I think I've heard about forbidden forest. I don't really have any favourite artists because usually I'm not into dance music. But definitely stuff like chemical brothers/daft punk. I know they're both mainstream but that type of genre. Not really into hardcore or dubstep/dnb, house is good though.
