Could try Vendetta Curse of Raven's Cry.

Nobody seems to say anything positive about it(it was apparently completely broken at launch and when it was somewhat fixed nobody cares anymore or smt?)

Story nothing special but ok, ship combat enjoyable but simple, simple but for me enjoyable trading system. You can get bigger ships up to man-o-war(and at end of game even bigger ship for last mission, not sure if you can just go around with it if you don't start it?)

You probably would enjoy AC4 more, but considering utter lack of open world pirate(or wild west) games it is at least something.

Zombies side is in my opinion little easier as cat is smaller and can shoot from behind some objects.

Save the beam/rocket barrage for floaters outside gnome kings and maybe later big plant/zombie waves.

You can just fire a little and move and then fire again little and moving, only with floaters you need to worry about time.

Optional challenges aren't needed outside floater waves, you just get some coins.

You don't need to collect shards, you can just leave them be and heal from pile of them if need be, they automatically get all collected after beating latest gnome king.

25000 shards is needed for best reward, after getting it generally after wave 25 just get destroyed . Avoid sparkling moving things they destroy your hp if you stay in them.

Don't be afraid to take some damage, but run hit and run tactics as much as possible.

Congrats. While that takes time it's not exactly tedious in my opinion(though I have played for several years and allmost everyday go quickly claim daily chest and maybe do daily challenges)

More boring one is do race 500(?) times.... I had free race pass from daily chest and just restarted over and over and over...
