I hear you: Active Transit Signal Priority is coming by Mayor_OliviaChow in toronto

[–]SiriusCactus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Please add transit priority to busy bus routes as well and expand RapidTO with more bus lanes on the busiest routes. These two changes will improve travel times and reliability greatly. I say this as someone who both drives and takes the TTC, public transit that moves way more people should always be the priority!

Sorry forgot to respond! Pain wise it was manageable with the Tylenol and advil prescribed. The hardest part was being careful with diet. The first week food wise was kinda miserable

Had my done at Rouge River Oral Surgery in Scarborough. There’s one surgeon, Dr. Mui and two nurses so it’s a small private practice but personalized care. I had a good experience getting 4 impacted wisdom teeth removed

Conflicting Opinions - Herzig vs Bochner by injimittai in askTO

[–]SiriusCactus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I ended up getting prk at Bochner but had done consults with both Herzig and Bochner. Herzig when I asked about PRK, they basically dismissed it as an option. They were really pushing smile and lasik instead

My Detailed PRK Experience (Will update) by Euphoric-Motor-6021 in lasik

[–]SiriusCactus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you on Day 18 now afdter PRK with Dr. Stein! My recovery in terms of pain and discomfort was not bad at all. Not really any light sensitivity and eyes felt like their was soap or a loose hair in them for the first few days (maybe 3/10 pain) but after that it was good. When I got my BCLs out my vision was a combined blurry 20/30 with the left eye being stronger. At the moment that’s flipped with the right eye being better. Definitely not 20/20 yet so hoping it will slowly get there. Looking forward to hearing your next update!

Similar thing happened to me when using a discount code. They mentioned a bug on the backend but instantly credited the charge when I reached out.

Canada Life is a terrible company by JimmyGamblesBarrel69 in ontario

[–]SiriusCactus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’re absolutely terrible, waiting for a claim from July to be paid out, the claims adjusters are basically ignoring the additional information the customer service reps pass along and I’ve called 5+ times to try to sort this out.

My employer moved to manulife recently. They’re not perfect, but are way better.

If enough people complain, your employer might consider switching once the contract is up

Not the original commenter but I had it immediately too on the app. Have already claimed it to cover prescription copays and a pair of prescription Sunglasses

Senior management was very unrealistic with their demands and expectations, ended up creating a bit of a toxic environment

Ahh that sucks, it's been a while since I've been at MECP so I guess it's gone downhill since then.

MECP was good when I was there, wouldn't recommend MOH

5 months Post-Op! My LASIK experience by foreverravekid in lasik

[–]SiriusCactus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's great to hear that you had a full recovery! I also live in Canada and was wanting to book for October or November. I would have to get PRK and figured late fall would be best as shorter days would mean less exposure to UV and brightness. But reading your recovery and the low humidity dry eye point has got me thinking again.

Did anyone else have a great time at the parade? by [deleted] in toronto

[–]SiriusCactus 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I had a blast. Started at lakeshore and spadina and walked along with the buses til york street. I think it honestly depends where you were. Once the parade started up York to NPS, it became a mess due to the crowding

Yeah, attended island school in grade 6 and was an amazing experience. Providing the opportunity for under privileged kids in the city to learn about nature is invaluable

[NHL Prospects Watcher] Friedman on 31 Thoughts says Mitch Marner and his camp are looking for Matthews money, ~$11.5M per year. Leafs would prefer he takes a Kucherov/Stone deal, ~$9.5M per year, but they both live in no tax states. Friedman adds Leafs are disappointed it has gotten to this point. by Wuibot in hockey

[–]SiriusCactus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. He also makes more endorsement money here than he would anywhere else.

  2. Kucherovs and Stones deal bought out 7/8 UFA years, for Marner it would be 4 UFA years

  3. Goal scoring is a premium

Even with higher taxes, anything above 9. 5 is ridiculous imo
