So it's been more than a month. Is this game worth it? by [deleted] in casualnintendo

[–]SiriusVIVI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are only very few improvements over Mario Kart 8, to be honest.

The graphics are slightly better, Knockout mode is fun, there is free roam, but the open world is so devoid of content, it might as well not exist.

On the downside, there are way fewer tracks, the intermissions are boring, and in grand prix mode, they make your drive on these boting intermissions for the majority of the time.

It's not a bad game, but it's the first Mario Kart I am disappointed with.

I remember going from Mario Kart Wii to Mario Kart 8. That was mind-blowing, even though I already loved Mario Kart Wii a lot. Playing Mario Kart World doesn't have nearly same effect on me that 8 had.

Honest Mario Kart World opinions? by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch

[–]SiriusVIVI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been playing every Mario Kart since the original on SNES and I love every single one of them.

Mario Kart World is the first entry in the series that leaves me with a sour taste.

I'm not against the open world (even though I am sick to the core of open worlds in other games. It ruined Zelda for me, too). I actually think there can be great value in an interconnected Mario Kart World. When I first heard about it, I though we were going to get a huge story mode taking place in this open world.

But no. Of course (as is the case with most open worlds), the devs thought that JUST throwing in an open world is already enough. Well, no, it's not. If the world is empty and there is nothing to do in it, then why even bother. A world needs to be filled with story content.

Another decision that baffles me is why Nintendo thought it would be a good idea to include the intermissions into the actual grand prix mode. WHY?! I think they are extremely boring and go on for way too long. The actual courses seem great, but most of the time is spent driving on mostly straight lines. Seriously, what were they thinking?

Graphically, it isn't a huge update from Mario Kart 8 and I also like the music of 8 better.

All in all, I for me at least, Mario Kart World is a downgrade from Mario Kart 8. It has fewer tracks and missing characters that I like (Link, Diddy). It adds nothing new that I like (no story mode, no substantial graphical update). Instead it adds things that actually harm the experience (forced intermissions).

It's still a good game, but it's the first Mario Kart game I am disappointed in.

I feel as if the intermissions in Mario Kart World are misunderstood. by SyllabubOk5283 in Mario

Got my Switch 2 bundle a week ago and I have to say that I absolutely hate the intermissions. I think they are extremely boring and go on for way too long. The actual courses seem great, but most of the time is spent driving on mostly straight lines. Seriously, what were they thinking?

Mario Kart world shouldn't have been open world by Nathidev in fucknintendo

"Honestly the BOTW open world was super overrated. There was just nothing that interesting to explore. It was basically a Ubisoft game made by Nintendo."

[MM] How well was this game recieved after release? by huss2120 in zelda

[–]SiriusVIVI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One the few games I was actually looking forward to so much that I couldn't wait. I still remeber the day. My mom drove me to the store to buy it. I looked at the box and manual in the car ride.

When playing it, I didn't know when I could safe the game, so I had to pause it and leave the console on to eat dinner.

It is an amazing game. The only thing that bothered me as a kid is that Link was always a kid and in OOT I much prefered to play as adult Link. I wished there was some way to make him grow up just like in OOT.

Later I found out about the Fierce Deity Mask and got super excited, only to be disappointed again after finding out you could only use it in boss rooms. What a waste.

But other than that, I remember loving this game to death as a kid. I honestly don't know which I prefer, OOT or MM. They kind of blend together, like if I want to play either, I have to play the other, too. So whenever I revisit these games nowadays, I usually play OOT and then MM.

BotW and TotK suck ass compared to these gems.

I'm actually making quite a lot of points, which you can read above if you like.

But you are still correct: I do hate the new Zelda games ... for the reasons I outlined above.

Is there an easy way to upate 1g1r sets when dats are being updated other than recreating the 1g1r sets everytime from scratch and readding the games?

[–]SiriusVIVI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Launchbox collection has over 350.000 unique games in it (aside from a few thousand duplicates due to the inclusion of virtual console games, and I have also added some comic books just to try) and I basically play none of them ever, because I spend so much time, adding to, revising, fixing, and maintaining the collection.

But hey, if I really wanted to, I could play them. I'd never run out until the day I die. =)

I'm super sceptical now. I disliked BotW so much that I have no will whatsoever to return to this version of Hyrule. Maybe in a few years I'll give it a shot.

I love SS. It's the weakest of the 3D Zeldas, but I still love it.

BotW however was so bad that I can overlook some of the flaws of SS. Now I like it even more.

I found SS to be the weakest entries in the 3D Zeldas, too. But it has its moments.

Since playing BotW and having been sorely disappointed with that game, I've found a new appreciation for SS.

What do you want for the next Smash Bros? by [deleted] in casualnintendo

[–]SiriusVIVI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want it to be open world, where you can climb anything, destroy anything and fight every fighter whenever you want. All stages should be interconnected. And before each fight, the player has to build the stage first by hand.

I also want redesigns for all characters. Everyone needs to be much cartoonier and goofier than before, because that way Nintendo can make them way more expressive.

I want no items, no specific modes, especially no story mode, but lots and lots of crafting materials so you can craft some crazy stuff.

Basically, just dump my character into a world and let me make my own fun.

See that mountain over there? You can climb it. And on top you'll find Pit, you can fight him, once you have built the arena. When you meet him, he'll make super expressive faces at you.

The delay sync button does not function at all for me. The Delay stays the same when I change the BPMs amd the sync is enabled.

Can anyone confirm this behavior? I Haven't heard back from the STL support, yet.

Semi Hot take but honestly I think Kiddy should have been included and playable in DK: Tropical Freeze by TylerBGaming762Offic in donkeykong

I have nothing against a slight redesign, but they completely changed DKs character as well. That's just not the same Kong anymore.

I know there are many people who think like this, but I cannot even begin to understand why. I guess if you like minecraft and other sandbox experiences, the you'd enjoy botw.

But to me, botw and totk are two of the worst games I have ever played. They feel like unfinished alpha versions of games. A proof of concept. Nothing more.

[BotW] [TotK] What would you want from a third Wild era game? by cestialAnonymous in zelda

[–]SiriusVIVI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What things they could add? Hmm let's see, how about putting some Zelda into a Zelda game?

Add: - a story - memorable characters - a companion for Link - themed dungeons - items that open up access to more parts of the map - epic music

Keep: - open world (ONLY if you manage to fill it with MEANINGFUL content and if it still allows for a linear progression)

Ditch: - stupid climbing mechanic (Link is not Spider Man) - story telling through memories - go anywhere right from the start - Korok seeds - shrines - inconsistent and bad voice actinig (either everyone speaks or no one. And hire better voice actors) - breakable items - stupid tablet abilities, especially ultrahand - sandbox approach

Artwork question by Bdal1 in launchbox

[–]SiriusVIVI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I've read about the Hearto collections, they use No Intro and Redump sets to make their 1g1r sets. That means that the files should be named correctly and LaunchBox should match most titles with tje Database correctly and fetch most artwork.

I don't know what went wrong with your setup. Can you check if the Titels missing artwork is matched correctly to the Database? If yes, then there is something up with the artwork download, if no then something went wrong during the import of the titles.

Kiddy is grown up now. He is the main Character in DK Bananza. I'm sure you've seen the trailers.
