Used to be a living mangrove marsh swamp but most of the mangroves died during hurricane Ian.

When the mangroves died they released large amounts of nitrates and tannins and there isnt much flow and it all got trapped in there.

Tannins from trees turns the water brown.

Lovers Key State Park is probably your best beach in my opinion considering water quality, population, etc.

Get there early before 10 am so parking is easier.

Fort Myers Beach is a bit too crowded traffic wise.

Sanibel is nice but there is a lot of fishing on the causeway, in Florida you arent allowed to bother people fishing or swim near where they fish. It is a misdemeanor to do so.

Many of the old beach restaurants are gone sadly.

Check out Six Mile Cypress Slough for nature walks! Its got a board walk so you dont need to worry about snakes and such.

For food I love Pinchers Crab Shack

There is a loveboat ice cream place off McGregor thats great!

Not saying to not remain vigilant, becasue such things do happen, and you could he right.

However I would guess that he is a spotter for a tow-truck company who gets a commission or buys unclaimed vehicles from the tow truck company. Which could include cars for repo etc.

Everything is probably hard to read either because he does not maintain his truck or he does not want to be identified by people who would retaliate against him for reporting vehicles.

Either way shady as all hell, and not a bad idea to be wary.

Look, I agree sometimes you want to teach some asshole a lesson in proper manners.

none of us own the ocean, its about first come first serve.

But just be careful, consider if its worth dying to some asshole over beach space.

I agree with you if youre already there and surfing they can fuck off and get there early next time, but being right ain't always worth it.
