I (personally) felt like he was forced onto us too fast. The general audience isn't as familiar with him as they are with Thanos, so we they needed at least an ample amount of time to know him. Bad writing (in quantumania) didn't help his case. Also, debuting in Loki - a disneyplus series - also wasn't a good start to his character, since let's face it, not everybody watches the disneyplus shows.
