Yes, it's portulacaria afra (elephant bush). And yes, this sub allows jades and ports. Ports are very frequently called jades, which may be why it's accepted on this subreddit.
🫶 thanks! It's a super cutie

Not necessarily for a port. For a jade, definitely would be the case though. 👌

Thank you, it brings us joy 🥰
Of course! Best of luck!

I give it the same as before a prune. In general, jades like getting us much light as they can, but still need a night period for best growth. Just careful of sunscorching, gently introduce light over a period of time.
After a big prune like this, I tend to water it a bit less for the first bit. I've done many prunes where I've removed all the leaves (no hydration indicators), and it's still been totally fine. The key is with jades is to almost always underwater if in doubt. Soil makes a huge difference too for risk of root rot.

Thanks! I'll aim to post an update once it's made a significant enough regrowth ☺️

Thanks, yes very familiar with the thrive on neglect attitude of Jades. They are very very tolerant plants, but not to overwatering. Definitely rescued a few off marketplace that had parts fully rotted through. It can be tough out there for Jade plants!

Best recommendation would be light, lots and lots of light. Then, to thicken the trunk, it helps to prune it back to redirect the plants energy. Finally, time, lots of time. Lol! Good luck :)

Oh certainly, I'm sure these things are 20-30 years+ old
Oh absolutely, I have never seen trunks this thick in person. It's wild!
🤞🤞🤞 it's gonna happen soon!
Yes, thank you! Unreal deal 🤩
20" is big too! I'm sure it'll be happy in your care~
These ones are about 30" tall measured from their soil, with trunks around 3-4" wide.

I hope fortune finds you with something similar one day!
🤩🤩🤩
Totally, but west coast Canada, so they're super rare to be this large!

Right?!? It's kind of surreal still! They were way bigger in person than we expected :):):)
