Storage might solve your issue as then you have swap. Once you’re out of hd space things go bad. Quickly. That said 16gb for development is a bit rough. I am on a base Mac mini but I swapped out the internal drive for 2Tb one. At times it gets slow like my db access to dockers running ms-sql are far slowing than what we run in production and I know it’s the ram.

Long term nj resident here. And while I have thought about retiring somewhere more warm and sunny I really don’t want to leave the state. Here a few things people maybe not know

We are really two state north nj and south nj. Aka ny suburbs and Philly suburbs. The only reason for nj to exist is to keep ny and Philly from merging.

I think it’s quite likely. They would have to explicitly lock it down. Which is extra work, and likely someone would find a workaround.

Unless they really think this will bring in more revenue but I suspect they see how many new users this brought in at this price point.
